SSSooooo....what did you REALLY eat last night???

Me? Uhhhh, well, went to a little italian place and had a bowl of wedding and a cobb salad, minus the wretched eggs in a fresh baked bread bowl, while watching the beginnings of the electorals trickle in. Went home and had a God awful cup of Tazo Passion tea. (ICK! ICK! ICK!)

What I really wanted was some banana ice cream. Such is life!

Give it up...what did you really have during that nail biter of an Election?

Just a normal dinner at the SB household, I made Cincinnati Chili.

I ended up eating at a Panda Express at The Easton Town Center...

Pringles and Pepcid.

leftover baked ziti and three glasses of wine.

spaghetti and tomato sauce w/ an apple juice

I had chicken tortilla soup, two slices of pizza, popcorn, and beer. I'm regretting that right about... now.

I knew who was going to win 6 months ago. None of this was a surprise I am calling it Jimmy Carter part 2.
I made beef soup with veggies and pasta. Used a nice chuck roast to make it it simmered all afternoon.
In the morning I ran to the farmers market and got some produce.
I love fall.

I baked raspberry thumbprint cookies and ate the whole batch. Historic night calls for...historic cookies? :)

we had fried polenta with chicken marinara... some kit that Target has... and it was pretty good!

We had a mini-Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, dressing, mashed pots., green beans, apple pie. Had friends over to watch the returns and it felt like a night to give thanks - that is until Calif. Prop. 8 failed. We're still thankful.

After blowing leaves for two hours my hands were so numb I didn't want to mess around with knives and cooking...besides my head wasn't in the kitchen, the polls were about to close. When hubby came home we opened a bottle of Osoyoos Larose, grilled some chicken as the election results began to trickle in, my hands seemed a little more normal so I chopped some veggies and made a quick fried rice and a salad as sides for the chicken. Didn't even notice the lack of dessert.
McCain's concession speech brought tears to my eyes. Obama's victory speech was elegant, appropriately aware of the magnitude and gravitas of the responsibilty he has been given.

leftover lentil soup (another soup that better the next day) and i had made some fresh sourdough rolls. dessert was homemade bannana/chocolate pudding. We didnt watch the election results, we curled up and enjoyed the princess bride, much better than reality, not matter who wins!

The lone Kosher hot dog left from last weekend's tailgate and a sample of the Obama cookies I was making!

greek hummus with pita chips to start and a bowl of lucky charms as my entree. I think it was the lucky charms that really helped things go the right way :)

I also called it Jimmy Carter 2! Same situation.

I had some corn chowder i made, and toast. then later i had a bowl of cheerios.

I had steak & mashed potatoes, along with some of the applesauce I was cooking up. 1/2 bushel of apples down, 1/2 bushel to go! The election results were on in the backround...although I'm thinking I would have liked to be at huneybumper's house...that sounds like a good evening!

Roasted tomato soup with a chicken salad wrap. I actually planned on making pizza, but my mobility has been rather restricted since I threw my back on Monday, so I was just grateful I could guide my OH through the chicken-salad making process (I made the soup on Sunday).

heh, i went to a bar in brooklyn where the beloved red hook ballfield mexican food vendors were set up. hadn't eaten since 1pm, so by 10 i was starving and drunk. this combo led to me eating 1.5 steak tacos, a huarache and a cheese pupusa. then went back inside and danced my face off. delicious night!

cajaun chicken pasta, streamed broccoli, garlic bread and strawberry jello salad----all homemade-----then tv in seperate rooms HA!!!!!!

I grilled up some Salmon kabobs, Spicy chicken kabobs, and Beef kabobs; I had a little assortment of dips and some fresh french baguette with spiced butter spread.

Once I saw Obama had 170-ish; I pounded a large shot of Alpenbitter to celebrate (hoping I hadn't jinxed the results);

Then I whipped up a batch of fresh popcorn!

...not tooo bad for a Canadian on the biggest election day in her history on the earth!!! :-D

I stopped by Chik-fil-A and picked up chicken strips/waffle fries meals for the whole family (a HUGE splurge!) because I was late coming home from work...
after putting the kiddies to bed, DH and I curled up in bed to watch the speeches and I polished off a huge mug of Breyer's Chocolate ice cream mixed with Coffee ice cream ('homemade' mocha!) and then suffered for it later. :o)

A delicious sub from the Italian import place across the street from my polling place, follwed by 3 or 4 Budweisers to tame my anxiety and another 2 to celebrate.

pizza and champagne!

Homemade chicken lo mein and green papaya salad. After dinner DH and I watched football/election returns while enjoying wine and M&M's.

During, I nursed a huge glass of cranberry juice at the boyfriend's bar, then after it was over we got pepperoni pizza.

We had planned on a big pot roast, roasted veggies, and butternut squash risotto. Didn't happen - we had leftover Hong Shao Rou (red cooked pork belly) and garlic noodles leftovers - fresh bread and red wine rounded out the evening. My face hurts from grinning so much last night. Whoooooeeeeee - pot roast tonight!

@brooke, sorry to hear about your back. If you need anything, let me know, I'm not far away. Leave me a shout on here.

My hubby is the local high school TV/Video production teacher and some of the kids stayed late last night to do live election coverage every 30 minutes starting at 7 until 10:30pm. They did an awesome job! I was SO proud. So, someone had to feed them during all of this. I brought baked ziti made with ground chicken and turkey sausage, roasted garlic caesar salad and the chocolate peanut butter crispy bars from Smitten Kitchen.

We had a great time. The kids were really into the election, it was nice to see them so enthusiastic. Now I have to figure out what to feed them for Thanksgiving morning breakfast before the football game! I feel another post coming on... :)

Half a bag of Doritos and a bottle of red wine.

two bambino pizzas from Trader Joe's, followed by a few (OK, more than a few) spoonfuls of the beef and pepper pilaf I had slow cooking on the stove. I comforted my nerves with carbs - is that wrong?

On the way home from selling a stack of DVDs and books we ran into an Arby's selling their regular roast beef sandwiches for $0.99 ea. We bought six sandwiches, 1 large curly fries, and 1 orange swirl shake.

When we got home, I was shocked to see 20 packets of Arby Q and Horsey sauce pouring out of the bag for our 6 sandwiches.

I was stuffed after one sandwich, despite the work-out extruding the shake through the straw on the way home. The shake was good, especially for the price. Then again, I'm a sucker for orange cream drinks. It was certainly a lot thicker than I had expected.

Oh...we only got $25 for 10 sci-fi and chambara DVDs that came out last year and 15 sci-fi, Japanese history, fantasy, and cook books. It doesn't even make a dent in clearing out our "junk" either, with over 1000 DVDs and at least 800 books. Ugh.

Made a huge batch of chocolate chip cookies and a batch of frozen margaritas to snack on while i roasted pork loin with rosemary and thyme and balsamic vinegar, sweet potato fries and steamed asparagus. Could bring myself to watch the returns.

I threw an election party!
Port wine & brie cheese with crackers and (red delicious, granny smith, and honeycrisp) apple slices for starters.
Breaded chicken breasts, potatoes, and corn on the cob for the main.
Firecracker popsicles (the red, white, and blue ones) and chocolate cake for dessert.
Plus, we had 3 bottles of wine, 2 bottles of champagne (the 1st we cracked when Ohio went to Obama, the 2nd when he got to 270), and one case of beer.
It was lovely!

Cassaendra; I'm jealous. I could really use some curly fries!

I made a beef stir fry with snow peas, bok choy, celery, red bell pepper, baby bella mushrooms, onions, and carrots. Quick, healthy, delicious. Oh, and I had a couple amaretto sours to calm the nerves. :-)

Beef barley soup, salad, bread.

@scarletini - thanks, that's so sweet of you! I'm doing slightly better thankfully, even though typing takes for ever and chopping and/or kneading is still not an option.

Btw, we have a high school right in our back garden...wouldn't it be funny if that's where you were last night?

I think a lot of people here had abig steaming heaping pile of CROW!!!

YES WE CAN!!!!!

I ordered from the sub place: cheeseburger club sub for him, grilled chicken wrap for me. He had Coors Light. I had diet ginger ale.

Left over hamburger stew (I accidentally thawed hamburger instead of stew meat. Oops! and Ick!) served with Jasmine rice and grated cheddar cheese. Stirred together, it makes a decent little bowl of "souper rice". I steamed pumpkins for freezing while the results trickled in. Got to love living on the East coast!

Oh, it was baaaaadddddd!!!

Started off with guac. and chips

2 rolls with butter

A couple of scoops of Cheesecake pudding

Coffee

Sweetarts (left over from Halloween)

Strawberry yogurt

First, a few beers to calm my nerves, then some lovely sweet potato fries with red curry tomato chutney, and Champagne to celebrate! (Lots of Champagne...)

Huge croquettes made from leftover wild Ahi Tuna steaks (hell of a find at Costco this past weekend). Stir fried bean sprouts, mushrooms and broccoli slaw. Jasmine rice with scallions. Garlic sesame dipping sauce.

Black bean chili with avocado salsa and a (bastardized) margarita (no cointreau!)

McDonald's cheeseburger, fries and ice tea - happy food for a happy night.

I made Beef & Barack-oli stir fry over soba noodles and we had some delicious Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale.

Homemade soup, Cream of Potato for me and the hubby, Italian wedding for the kids and grilled cheese sandwiches plus one grilled crunchy peanutbutter for the 10 year old.

We actually had two precincts voting at my workplace so I was up early. I made crepe batter before I went in. We had crepes filled with ham and cheese along with some oven roasted olive oil and sea salt potatoes.

Haha, love the "pringles and pepcid" answer. In all honesty, I was too caught up planning on baking a pie that I didnt have time to think about dinner. We just picked up Chinese takeout (vegetable soup and cashew chicken). I spent the whole evening preparing pumpkin pie tarts. Thank goodness for TVs in the kitchen!

Hillary
Chew on That

garlic onion pistachios, a can of coke, a couple of mini mint 3 musketeers left over from friday and a twinkie.

um yeah, at least I ate a "real" meal at lunch.

Roasted a chicken a couple days ago, so I made chicken noodle soup out of the stock (first time I have had stock turn out so good, btw--turned to jell-o in the fridge :)) and leftover meat. Really yummy served with some homemade w.w. bread. This week is the first really cold week we've had in CA so it was perfect for soup.

I was so busy taking care of hubby and two kids that I couldn't care less what was going on with the election. I mailed in my absentee ballot a couple weeks ago and figured I'd find out in the morning.

linguini with butternut squash, golden raisins, kale, onions, and parmesan cheese. two glasses of wine and a perfect brownie during obama's speech.

Ham and swiss sang witch with romaine on marble.

red wine. lots of it. right up until the race was called.

Nothing. Have not eaten in days er weeks. I have no joy in anything solid to eat only drink so at this time I had Odwalla green stuff and bud light beer.
