In a Yam Jam

Hello! I am traveling home to Michigan for the Thanksgiving holiday and have been commissioned by my family members to provide several courses of the meal. Generally, they have what I would consider boring taste in food, so I am trying to find a yam recipe that'll wow' em.

Any suggestions?
