Presumptuous
Last week I got into a fight with my boyfriend. He said he was going to his mom's house for breakfast. A bit later he called me back and I of course asked him what he ate. He named a few things, the last being, "really good biscuits." I said, "Oh, I didn't know that your mom liked to bake."
The fight ensued when he said I was a food snob and it was stupid and presumptuous of me to assume his mom "made" the biscuits. Apparently they were the kind out of a can and to him, it was totally ridiculous of me to think that his southern mom made homemade biscuits for breakfast.
This is a two parter:
Was I presumptuous to think that a southern woman would make her breakfast biscuits?
Is it ridiculous to automatically assume that people are making things from scratch?
