Mail order barbecue for gift giving -- any favorites?
I'm considering gifts of meat for my brother and brothers-in-law this holiday. All are carnivores and I know enjoy a good rack of beef or pork ribs (or maybe brisket). Anyone have any recommendations? Not only for good 'cue but also trustworthy companies with which to deal? (All purchases will be shipped out of state and could get lost, maimed, etc.) Any horror stories?

Our favorite shipped ribs are Montgomery Inn. (Cincinnati, OH)
You can get packages with famous Skyline chili, and more famous Graeter's ice cream. So good! They have really perfected their shipping, everything packed well and still frozen upon arrival.

If you're going to mail order BBQ. I suggest you do a websearch on BBQ from Texas..couple of places that I know do baskets - Coopers BBQ / Salt Lick / Goode Company (make sure and order one of their pecan pies) / Rudy's / plus a lot more..It is expensive but if it's the only way to get good BBQ to them, by all means it's a great idea.
BTW - I love Omaha Steaks - probably my favorite meat gift !
Enjoy....

You made me smile as I remembered a MASH episode where Hawkeye is on a quest to get some of Adam's Ribs delivered to Korea.
In Syracuse the Dinosaur BBQ is a favorite. Here's a link to the Dinosaur BBQ's webstore: http://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/browseProducts.php?cat=20

dhorst, I LOVE that episode of M*A*S*H! ("You ordered ribs all the way from Chicago and forgot the cole slaw?") Thanks for reminding me. And everyone, thanks for your helpful suggestions.
