Iron Chef HUGE Knife
Has anyone noticed the really large knife Michael Symon used on Sunday's Iron Chef? I've also seen Mario Batali use it. It has an orange and green handle and is massive. I've googled everything I can think of and haven't been able to figure out what kind of knife it is.

it is called a cimeter (scimitar) knife. there are multiple spellings of that same word. It has a wide blade with quite a bit of heft as it is meant for butchery.

I want a scimitar so badly. The idea is that it has greater accuracy in carving steaks. I think it would be badass for opening champagne.

The potential for disaster, unarata, may out-weigh the bad assiness. Worth it? Maybe.

Thanks! I'm not sure I could handle it, but it is certainly impressive.
