I need some interesting slider toppings PLEASE
I'm catering a cocktail party next weekend and planning on making some beef and some pork sliders, I need some simple toppings for them. I was thinking horseradish mayo and roasted red pepper on the beef any ideas would be great.

How about a red cabbage, fennel, and apple/pear slaw for the pork sliders?

I just had a spicy turkey slider with cranberry chutney and scallions...it was delicious.

I made a cranberry horseradish relish that everyone loves on sandwiches. I think it would be great on your sliders. It's from Bon Appetit, here's the link:

@dhorst~That's so funny, that cranberry horseradish relish of yours was the first thing I thought of. The only reason I haven't made it yet is that I've dug in my heels and refused to go to the store all weekend. I'm making it tomorrow. Now that we're down to gnawing on the bare turkey bones from the soup...

I would do the beef with a roquefort mayo and grilled onions that were brushed with barbecue sauce (preferably a hickory type flavor). Wookie and I must be sharing one mind, because fennel slaw on pork sounds perfect to me, maybe with a condiment of bourbon mustard.

oh, and if you're making pork anyway, why not just make some cubans?
Keight at 9:54PM on 11/30/08
@Keight ~ cubans make me smile!

@s iz -It's probably rooted in your pickle obsession. I like it for the double-pig.

For some reason, the first thing that popped into my head was plantains. I had a sushi roll with plantain it this weekend and have a feeling it would work well on sliders as well! They can take the place of the pickle, looks-wise.

@Keight ~ The first time I had a cuban, I was driving from Ft. Lauderdale down to my parent's home in the keys. I stopped a a little artsy shop and they had a tiny open air lunch spot. The owner was so gracious and his food smelled dinine! He suggested that sandwich and I have been in love ever since. *sighing here*
