Ginger cookies in Manhattan?
After reading the long list of bakeries with great chocolate chip cookies, I had to wonder... where can I find great gingerbread (or gingersnap... or molasses) cookies in Manhattan? They seem to be surprisingly elusive. Either that or I'm simply not looking in the right places.
FWIW my idea of a great ginger cookie is one that's soft, chewy, and with a good kick - preferably in the form of actual candied ginger bits. :)

sweet melissa on court street in Carroll Gardens. But these are the slim, crunchy kind. Still have a lot of kick, and are magnificent!

Dean & Deluca on Prince & Broadway have chewy, large ginger cookies which are rather delicious!
