Dim Sum in New York

Where is the best dim sum in Manhattan?

9 Comments:

This question will be the subject of a long discussion, but I go to Golden Harmony on Mott, half a block north of Canal st.

jing fong is the biggest and certainly quite good. for vegan dim sum, there's also buddha boddai.

Vegetarian Dim Sum House on Pell St. is my personal favorite.

i just wanna see how many people end up saying Chinatown Brasserie and the frequency at which they visit.

personally jing fong takes the top spot. but seeing as i go around once a month, price becomes a factor.

As long as you don't get stuck downstairs, I really love Ping's on Mott

My go to is Chatham Square Restaurant

I think if you like your dim sum halls big and bustling, and are looking for the widest variety, Jin Fong is hands down the best in Manhattan (right now).

If you are perfectly happy just eating the standard dim sum items (like shumai, har gow, etc.), and freshness, or overall quality is the most important thing to you, I think Ping's is the best for that.

That's not to say Jin Fong isn't fresh, or lacks quality, but I admit that it can be hit or miss depending on the day and time you are there.

Golden Unicorn!

My favorites are Sunrise 27 on Division Street, Golden Bridge on Bowery and Jing Fong on Elizabeth. The service I've had at Golden Unicorn and Grand Harmony in the past made me never want to return.
