Where can I buy imported Nutella in NYC?
I'm almost out of my jar of Nutella that I bought when I was over seas back in June. I tried to taste the US formula for Nutella and it was the equivalent of me licking a plastic bag. So you can see my dilemma of wanting to replace my stock soon!
So, to the people in NYC, where can I find an imported bottle of Nutella or similar so that I may purchase it?

Go to SOS chef on Ave B bet 6th and 7th. I'm pretty sure they have imported Nutella, as well as tons and tons of other really great stuff. Including a walk in for their mushrooms.

Try the Italian food store in Chelsea Market. I am positive they sell imported Nutella (or at least did). I can't remember the name fo the store, but you can't miss it.

Why is the formula different?
I just got a jar today in my local Price Chopper (presumably it's the US version) and now am really really curious.

I've been getting Nutella at Sam's (or Costco - I can never remember which). It seems just as yummy as any Nutella I've ever had. I'm going to have to wait till I get home to see where these jars were born.

moibec asked the same question I wanted to ask. I'm not doubting you; I just don't understand how many things are totally delicious overseas, and the American version is fake, chemical-laden, cheapened, and disgusting. Now I'm mad!

Nutella is increasingly easier to find in stores these days -- I do not know where in the city you are located, but the Amish Market (http://www.amishfinefood.com/indexx.php) over in Hell's Kitchen sells it.

I have seen it Alidoro sandwich shop. I can't guarantee they have it now, but if they don't, you can still get a delicious sandwich.

That's pretty awesome that the U.S. Nutella is a different recipe than the Italian one. Go figure - you can buy Nutella at Duane Reade.
Have you tried Le Pain Quotidien's hazelnut spread?
