Great Chinese near Sloan Kettering (UES)
Have to go visit a loved one at Sloan Kettering tonight--on York Avenue and 69th Street. Wanted to pick up some chinese take-out and have dinner at the hospital. I live downtown, so I have no idea where to pick up from. Anyone got a suggestion? A hidden gem? Really, I'm just looking for a place that doesn't suck.

Try Evergreen, at First and 70th. I haven't eaten there for about 6 months, but they have a nicely diverse menu and some fairly sophisticated appetizers for a neighborhood place. The former owner, Henry, is no longer a hands-on player, but the management seems to be keeping up standards. If you want to go a little further uptown, the amazing Nancy Lee's Pig Heaven, at 80th and Second Avenue is well worth the hike.

Shanghai Pavillion on 3rd and 78th is ok too.
