Christmas Dinner in Brooklyn?
My 22 year old son moved to Williamsburg to become a famous photographer. He's almost there, but in the meantime is a starving artist!
I'm thinking of flying up for Christmas with my 17 year old son and surprise him. Any ideas of places for Christmas dinner that won't bankrupt me (any spare money I have goes to help the starving artist!)
I would cook dinner for us, but i'm not even sure if he has dishes!

Monkeytown in W-burg is delicious and festive, wonderful cocktails and the best burger around. Not super-cheap but quite reasonable. Check to see if they are open!
For a more traditional Christmas dinner a little further afield you might see if Applewood in Park Slope is open. They have a working fireplace and a lovely, locavore menu.

If Diner (on Broadway and Bedford, in the southern part of Williamsburg) is open, check it out - delicious, fresh food, a menu that changes nightly based on what's seasonally available, and a lovely atmosphere (actually an old metal diner). A *bit* on the expensive side (entrees from $12-20), but definitely worth it; it's where I, a starving, 24-year-old teacher, ask my parents to take me when they're in town.
