Anything for lunch near Port Authority?
The bus I would take to NYC drops me at Port Authority. I plan to meet a friend, but I'm disabled and would prefer to stay in PA or pretty close to it. btw, my friend's a vegetarian (who does eat some seafood). Anybody got a suggestion for me? Thanks.

Casual places: How about Metro Marche (www.metromarche.com) - right in the PA, it's brasserie food and it's fine, nothing fancy. Or John's Pizza (www.johnspizzerianyc.com), lots of vegetarian options.

What about the falafel at Pick-a-Pita now on 8th Ave walking towards 38th? I can't remember the exact address of the new location, but it's less than a block from 40th St.

Actually, Port Authority (42nd Street & 8th Avenue) isn't far from Joe Allen on West 46 Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Or, if you're in the mood, there's Chipotle on 9th Avenue and 44th Street or 45th Street, I believe. The former has good burgers and great salads. The latter is a chain with fresh Mexican/Southwestern food. A huge burrito (much more than enough for one person) and large drink will set you back less than $10.00
