There are several on the Hershey's website. Sometimes they're a little too sweet (I like it to be a little bitter), but are generally good.

My hot cocoa "recipe" is pretty basic. I like mine very dark and a little bitter, so you might have to adjust to your taste:
equal parts cocoa and sugar -- for example for 8 ounces of milk, I use 2 tablespoons each of cocoa and sugar.
Actually I blend that into some extra milk and whisk it until it's dissolved, so that might end up being the right amount for about 9 ounces of milk.
Sometimes I add a splash of vanilla after it's heated.

Alton Brown has a great one, though I replace the pinch of cayenne with a few pinches of cinnamon: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/hot-cocoa-recipe/index.html

2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa (Dutch-process preferred)
2 1/2 cups powdered milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or more to taste
Hot water
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and incorporate evenly. In a small pot, heat 4 to 6 cups of water.

Fill your mug half full with the mixture and pour in hot water. Stir to combine. Seal the rest in an airtight container, keeps indefinitely in the pantry. This also works great with warm milk.

Look for Tyler Florence's recipe on FoodTV.com, or the Your favorite hot cocoa recipe" thread in the Serious Eats archive.

The best one I've ever done is the simple one papillon mentioned...Hershey's baking cocoa, sugar, but then I add a dash of salt...you'd be surprised what a difference just a few granules of salt can make. It's dark and rich -- definitely ONLY make with warm milk...no water! Or if you really want decadence, make with warmed cream....then top with mini-marshmallows. Then plop yourself in front of the fireplace and watch "It's a Wonderful Life." I love this time of year!

I put a tablespoon of cocoa powder, a little more than a table spoon of sugar and a dash of salt in a mug. Then I add a couple of ounces of warm milk and a splash of vanilla, stir til all the lumps are gone, then I add the rest of the milk and marshmallows or whipped cream. (I probably use a total of 8 ounces)

All I do is heat up milk and throw a Godiva hot chocolate cube in my mug. =)

My husband will occasionally make Mexican hot chocolate for me. I think it has chocolate, cinnamon, half and half, and vanilla. Not sure of the specifics; I don't make the stuff, I just drink it.

Here is a recipe:

Ingredients

1 1/2 tsp. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. water
3/4 C. milk

Directions

Mix cocoa, sugar and water in a mug. Stir until smooth. Pour milk into saucepan over medium heat until milk is hot. Stir so it doesn't burn. Carefully pour hot milk into mug and stir. Top with marshmallows or whipped cream. One serving.

P.S. @Cassaendra, Godiva hot chocolate cubes?! I didn't know such things existed!

Easiest thing in the world. Equal parts:

Carnation Dry Milk
Nestle Quik
CoffeeMate Creamer

1/4 - 1/3 cup with 1 cup HOT water. Marshmallows optional.

If you try to cheat and use off brand you will regret it. I promise. It makes all the difference in the world.
I mix this by the pound and put it back in the containers the stuff came in. Great storage. Also kids love bags of it to take home.

Heat milk, pour in Hershey's chocolate syrup to desired chocolatyness. Marshmallows and/or whipped cream optional. I like hot coffee with a little hot chocolate mixed in. For other flavors you can add liqueurs, cayenne, orange peel, cinnamon - anything you'd like.

I have grated 2 oz of block chocolate (from whole foods) and stir it into hot milk stir till the chocolate melts. ohhhhhhhhhhhh so good and you can use dark, semi sweet or bitter to tailor to your needs.

Thanks , Y'all! I'm gonna try these out! It's COLD here in Tennessee....these will be great!
