What desserts should i make a for a bar mitvah??

I've been asked to make desserts for a 60 person bar mitzvah that is loosely Mexican themed as one of the parents is a Mexican Jew. They don't have to be in the Latin vein, but it would be nice because they're having it catered by a taco truck from their local farmers market. I'm neither Jewish, nor have ever been to a bar mitzvah, so any suggestions would be appreciated. A few cakes and a couple varieties of cookies (primarily kid-friendly) would be appropriate I think.
