opinions on women's lunch tote.
I've been carrying around shopping bags for my lunch, but most of them wont horizontally fit my rectangular containers. so, i'm thinking of getting a tote. This one :

That's nice (red is great). Have you considered a "sideways tote"? It seems to fit my tupperware better:

It is cute, but I'd make sure it's washable or somehow impervious to wet leaks. I think I'd get the bag, but save it for something other than my lunch, and look for something sturdier (say, like those zippered canvas totes - try Lands' End for some nifty styles and colors) that will protect your food from crushing, tipping, etc.
(I can't believe there's that much to say about a lunch bag, but there you go.)

I chose the handle tote because i already carry a backpack thats stuffed.

Too funny. I was just at walmart and I was looking at this bag. They have it in print and solid Aqua too. Um I like it, very cute. But as the above person said, I always seem to have leaks in my lunch bag and this one is not wipeable on the inside. But I do hate those unsightly lunch sacks, so good luck.

i find target usually has really nice a pretty alternatives.... I can't find the one I have now, but it's an Eddie Bauer lunch tote that Everyone always thinks it's a purse instead of a lunch bag.
Check these alternatives - http://www.target.com/gp/search/ref=in_se_pagelist/602-1449499-3190248?ie=UTF8&pricerange=&index=target&field-browse=1038576&viewID=drill-down&store=&field-keywords=lunch%20totes&page=1

Super cute. Go for it.

I've got this one and I love it! It's not too big and fits all of my horizontal tupperware without it feeling like an extra purse. I usually pack a horizontal tupperware, a piece of fruit and a yogurt container and there's room to spare. Sometimes, I even bring dinner if I know it's going to be a late night at work.
It's slightly thermal, stretches, is washable and cute. Ok, so I might be slightly obsessed with my lunch tote :)

I second Ms. Camero's lunch tote rec. My friend uses it to covertly tote beers to the park. Her aunt bought it for her thinking it was a purse!

My friend uses a cometics bag that she bought at Target. The inside is wipeable, the top zips all the way around the bag, the outside is super cute (fuschia with with polka dots), it was cheap, it fits her gladware containers perfectly.

I adore my Vera lunch tote... cute and functional! http://www.verabradley.com/Site/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?Sku=268&

Sbelle, is that tote insulated? I purchased the Built NY Hungry Tote off Amazon, and turns out it only keeps food for 2 hours. I'd like to have something insulated, and I like the look of those Vera bags more and more.

Item number K8638
Lock & Lock 4-piece Container Set with Lunch Cooler Bag
Item number K11472
Lock & Lock 4-piece Container Set with Lunch Cooler Bag
www.qvc.com
The link isn't working, so just type or copy the item number in the Item Search box on the site.
I ordered mine a few months ago and LOVE it! Fully insulated, roomy, wipeable inside & out and comes complete with the Lock & Lock storage ware. Not a bad deal for the price.I have replaced all of my cheap and somewhat better storage ware with all Lock & Lock, besides my stain shield pieces for tomato-based items.
You can also read the customer reviews about each item on the page.
Good luck!

I just saw where Mario Batali will have a lunch bag line in October!

I agree with bitchincamero as well. I have the exact same tote. I too am a little obsessed with it. I usually bring my lunch in those reusable take out containers, the round ones. They fit perfectly with room for a water bottle, yogurt and fruit. Sometimes I throw one of those blue ice packs in there if something really needs to stay cold. Works great.

Not all kids' lunchboxes look like kids' lunchboxes anymore...check Office Depot, etc. for back-to-school selection.
My daughter (age 7) has had several cute ones...I have borrowed them on occasion. I do draw the line on borrowing the Spider-Man box from my son (age 10).

Also check www.fit-fresh.com - they have a whole system, including plastic containers and recipes. =)
(lookee there, I did html!)

What about a Mr. Bento or Ms. Bento? They come with bags. (The links go to Amazon pages.)
maryn at 8:20PM on 09/04/08
It is a cute bag. Looks like something you could smuggle goodies into the movies with. For other options, you might try ebags.com. I found a great messenger bag for work there, and they have everything from couture handbags to diaper bags to kids' backpacks. It's a fun website to waste both time and money.

i also get leaks in my lunch. i started using the kind of ziploc plastic food container that has a screw on lid. much better.
cybercita at 8:57PM on 09/04/08
