No More Hot Pot at Sichuan Gourmet?!
I went to Sichuan Gourmet last night and attempted to order the hot pot and we were told they are no longer serving it, and may only start again in a few months, if that... does anyone have any info on this, and can someone recomend a good place for hot pot (preferably sichuan) in manhattan, or do i need to trek out to flushing?

Can't answer your question, but maybe the water-boiled fish -- bland as that sounds, it's every bit as fiery and satisfying as Sichuan hot pot -- will tide you over until a few months from now. Hot pot is traditionally a winter dish, so may be they will start serving it in a few months.

I'm far from an expert but I enjoyed the one I had at Wu Liang Ye on 39th and Lex.

Try Grand Sichuan on 125 Canal (near Chrystie). They have the half and half pots for those that can't take the full spiciness. I love the Sichuan peppercorns!
