Meatpacking or Chelsea Neighborhood Faves?
I'm looking for a place that budget friendly, cozy but not dark, not too loud and great food/service. Something like Jarnac or August but a little well, cheaper. Thoughts?

Blossom on 9th Ave and 29th St. is excellent, and there is a little French bistro-type spot a few doors down that's cozy without being overly crowded. Though it tends to be loud, there's always Cafeteria on 7th Ave. and 17th St. - their menu is terrific (kinda upscale comfort food), though it does tend to get packed.

spice thai is cheap and good with a nice decor, hipster vibe, good sangria

Someone above mentioned Cafeteria. I love their burgers and other simple food, but the noise level is beyond endurance.
I think Tello on 19th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues is a fine, simple "family-type" Italian restaurant with always fresh food. Super chicken and veal dishes.
