If you can stand more Shamdra Lee news...

She's getting a magazine. Honestly. How many ways can you glop up an angel food cake or hot glue a dollar store trinket to a stick??

I'll understand if this thread gets no action due to "Shamdra Overload."

I'll also understand if it gets two thousand responses. :D

Well, look at it this way: Sally Field has won two Oscars and Glen Close none.

I really don't know what else to say other than this seems like an awful waste of paper. I for one will not be buying her magazine.

Rachel Ray has a magazine and people buy it. It was only a matter of time until Sandra Lee "designed" one. Heck, everyone has an audience, even Sandra Lee. She probably laughs all the way to the bank!

I tend to loathe phony Paula Deen, who apparently also has a mag), more than I do Sandra Lee. But then I'm not thrilled with any of FoodNetwork's regular hosts.

What I want to know is: Who is buying any of these people's magazines and what could possibly be gleaned from them?

Dare I suggest she may be planning new takes on moose stew?

Who is Shamdra Lee?

@iz - The Instacrap Food Queen. (See the Kwanzaa Cake thread here at SE.) She's responsible for more culinary abomination than Chef Boy R Dee and he had a head start of several decades.

@chiff ~ I was just kidding ;-) I am trying to pretend she doesn't exist. It makes me feel better.

Can't stand her "super simple" comment that she makes 1000's of time in her episodes. She has no idea how stupid she sounds.

Wow. Can I haz one too??? I'm sure I can come up with a bunch of useless craptastic info to share with everyone... and get paid for it. I want Shmandra's gig.

@Pointy: the people who will buy, in chiff's eloquent words, the Instacrap Food Queen's mag, are the guys who like to look at her hooters. Can't say the same for Paula Deen, though. Eeewwww.

@chiff: talking about Sandra makes me feel better about myself. There can not be any overload.

Sorry Iz - I didn't detect the sarcasm...What was I thinking? LOL.

Buffy - I tend to agree - we all need a little more comedy and Shamdra fits the bill perfectly.

I so hope she names it The woman who saw flavour. Oh wait, she better keep that one for another "memoir" of hers (for those who have no idea what I'm talking about - lately, she just lllllloves saying: Look at all that flavour! or You can see all that flavour in here!). Oh well.

Truth be told, I almost feel like I'm partly to blame for her ratings (whatever they are), as she is my regular comedy hour on Saturday morning (I know, it's supposed to be only 30 minutes, but we inevitably end up pausing every two minutes or so with a WTF???). But a magazine? Somebody will actually pay for this? I am truly, truly puzzled.

Does anybody else think she is a Martha-want-to-be? They have both figured out how to make money pour in, but Martha has her licked in that department. Shamdra is prettier and younger, and doesn't talk in a perfectly articulated monotone, but I'm as guilty as some of the above in watching her just to hear her hilarious pronunciations and stunned at her appalling "russipeas" , I'm not Martha's biggest fan, but she does have talent in a myriad of areas including cooking, baking, gardening, crafts, etiquette, and the stock market, of course. ;) I might swipe her magazine from the doctor's office, but not Shamdra's. Wouldn't it be cool if she followed her hero's example and went to jail, not for financial crimes, but for cooking crimes against humanity? I would SO love to be on that jury. haha

Well you all know that it was bound to happen sooner or later, we just didn't know when. We were all holding our breath and now we can exhale. She has a joke of a program on the FN, which in reality should be on Comedy Central, she has God knows how many cookbooks slithering around, So why Not a magazine? Soon she will have her own line of cocktail mixes (just add booze and ice), tablescape line, and most important boxed Kwanzaa cake kits. BUT wait, there's more, eventually Oprah will get Shamdra her very own daytime talk show. That is when I give up TV all together.

I haven't heard anything about a new publication for the queen of table scapes (omg) but I do know that there is a new pub coming out called "The Food Channel" or something like that. Could be the same magazine?

@Perky - remember when Martha was ..ahem... indisposed? TVFN tried to push Shamdra as "The New Martha" but that backfired badly as the flood of negative press launched at Shamdra had Biblical proportions.

A friend of mine from Detroit told me about this development and in her e-mail she said, "I'm thinking of getting a bird because now I have something to line its cage."

How many ways can a person gak up a supermarket roasted chicken? I guess she'll cover just about all of them.

did u see the sub rate is 6 issues for 19.95. Wow, that is expensive for 6 issues! It needs a solid gold page to make it work that much. I would pay 1.00 just for her amazing and insightful recipe for the complicated kwanzaa cake but that is way to much for 6 mags.

Holy sticker shock, batman! I pay less than that for a year's subscription to Cosmo, and I dare say their recipes are better than hers. That is if you consider hers actual "recipes". Which I don't.

Take heart all. Ina's new series starts mid-October with her revamping the classics. For fans of Giada (and of her cleavage), "Giada at Home"(?) starts around the same time. And while we're talking about FN, catch Alton Brown's "Feasting on Waves" if you can. Beautiful footage and an informative look at native Carribean cuisine. The series is over, but you can catch it in the reruns.

Anybody hear the rumor that she's dating Andrew Cuomo? (The local Albany buzz recently. Too weird even for the imagination.)

I heard she was dating Gordon (the Aussie).

Yes, indeed she is dating Andrew Cuomo. I could wretch. I'd love to see her at holiday gatherings trying to get in the door with a doctored up angel food cake or her Salad Chinois which calls for canned Chinese Vegetables. WARNING - Reading these recipes can be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

Hey everyone....after reading your colorful comments about Sandra Lee, I find it rather amusing that she couldn't possibly be eating the fattening recipes she gives to her viewers. How else could she stay so painfully thin? What in the world is wrong with Andrew Cuomo? I think Sandra Lee wants to be a "Playboy Bunny" in the kitchen. I have never ever considered making one of her "dishes" and never ever will.

I don't care what she cooking, I'm just checkin out her bod.

She should really think about reducing the subscription price of her magazine.

AND she's on the cover of Redbook next month. Check it out at www.imnotobsessed.com.

AND FN showed the Kwanzaa cake episode again yesterday.
Have they no shame?

@Perky Mac - I don't think they do, and bless them for that.
