How many do you read?
How many food blogs do you follow? Is that in addition to other blogs?
I can't keep up. There are more blogs that I want to read than there are hours in the day. When am I supposed to sleep?!
Me: about 15 food and 15 non food blogs.

About 8 or 10.
But I scan them fast, relying on the pictures to let me know if I'm interested in reading longer.
Sometimes it can seem like too much talk about food. My grandmother would've tsk'ed about it and told you to just quit reading about it and eat already.
moibec at 12:48AM on 09/04/08
please list the ones that you read.
besides this one, i occasionally read smitten kitchen, amateur gourmet, ruhlman, pioneer woman and bitten, but none has enraptured me the way the julie/julia project used to do.
cybercita at 1:35AM on 09/04/08

maybe we need to start a separate thread for "How many food message boards do you participate in?" Umm... 3? Yes, I have no life...
cowprintrabbit at 2:48AM on 09/04/08
I read
Smitten Kitchen (Deb is a food porn queen)
Baking Bites (Nicole is my mentor)
Tartlette (great blog)
Orangette (much revered)
Peabody (always a joy)
Mia Cucina
Dessert First
Leite's Culinaria
Creampuffs in Venice
Dorie Greenspan
David Lebovitz
Nick Malgieri
I also read ones that are linked often by any of the above and SE.
I lurk therefore I am.
JerzeeTomato at 3:29AM on 09/04/08
^I have to second Peabody's once again--an often-overlooked blog!
I'm less interested in the photos than a great and distinctive voice. I also like small batch and simple recipes because I'm a single cook.
HeartofGlass at 5:55AM on 09/04/08
jerzee, i had no idea nick malgieri had a blog. i'll have to go check him out!
cybercita at 9:03AM on 09/04/08
Currently following 13 food blogs - although have purged a couple recently - and have 106 RSS subscriptions total. Not all of these blogs are active, and with some I just scan the headlines and mark all as read. I purge occasionally. I might have to ditch Photograzing.
CanadianFoodieGirl at 9:17AM on 09/04/08
google reader ftw. easy to keep up when they are all in one place!
fledglingapotheosis at 9:21AM on 09/04/08
My RSS reader says I read 17 food blogs:
Baker's Banter
Chocolate & Zucchini
David Lebovitz
Dinner Guest (http://www.culinate.com/mix/dinner_guest)
Dorie Greenspan
Fotocusine (http://fotocuisine.com)
Gourmeted (http://gourmeted.com)
Habeas Brulee (http://habeasbrulee.com)
Jaden's Steamy Kitchen
Low Mileage Food (http://blog.lowmileagefood.com - my best friend and her partner)

Amateur Gourmet (http://www.theamateurgourmet.com/)
Pioneer Woman
Thursday Night Smackdown (http://thursdaynightsmackdown.com)
White on Rice Couple (http://whiteonricecouple.com/blog)
I also read (drool over?) Tastespotting and SE several times a day, in web-only form, since they're pretty high-volume and it's easier for me to scan that way.

Serious Eats
What Geeks Eat
The Poineer Woman Cooks!
Homesick Texan
Steamy Kitchen
Laylita's Recipes

Because I've had some photos submitted on Photograzing, I tend to stay here and lurk. But, there's a whole world of fantastic small blogs out there today, and you have to go find them. I discover new and exciting blogs from cruising PG,TasteSpotting, Food Gawker and Slashfood.
BIG blogs are the Walmart of everyone's blogrolls. Most everyone has a few of them sprinkled here and there. You never really look at them, but you keep them because it looks good. I found myself in that situation a while ago, thinking, when have I clicked on that blog last and why not? I weeded through most of them. Other than that, I like to support the blogs on my blogroll. Sometimes it's reciprocal. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.
I like to comment on each I find, but then there's the reply. Do you continue to chat? If I don't, I feel guilty and neglectful. In the end, there's only so many hours in a day to stare into a computer screen. I've become an obsessive food blogger. I can't stop!
Oh, my favorites? Besides the above:
Apartment Therapy the Kitchn
Culinate
Cakespy
Blake Bakes
Just Baking
The Daily Tiffin
Tuesdays With Dorie (any of the members blogs there)
What's for Lunch Honey?
Sticky, Gooey, Creamy, Chewy
The Noble Pig
The Knead for Bread
There are more, but I have to go eat!
cruisingkitty at 12:33PM on 09/04/08
In addition to SE, I visit 2 food blogs daily:
A Passion for Food
Fast Food Critic
On a monthly basis, I visit 2 others:
Ono Kine Grinds
Cheap Places to Eat in Oahu Hawaii
The rest of my online browsing time is shared between a Japanese history forum, various World of Warcraft forums, my cousin's blog, and deciphering as much kanji as I can of my stepbrother's blog in Japan. In addition, while not blogs/forums, I like Midnight Eye and Twitch.
I have 4-5 recipe/cooking blogs stickied in Favorites at home, but I don't visit with any regularity.
Cassaendra at 2:04PM on 09/04/08
I only read food blogs. I dont even read the news. I would rather stay home and cook (even though I'm not good), than hang out with my friends. I'm in serious trouble.
My regulars:
not eating out in ny
dinners for a year and beyond
FP daily
Peabody
cooking for engineers
my wooden spoon
chowhound
terabithia at 2:20PM on 09/04/08
Um, like 70+ food blogs (though I separate food blogs and bento blogs...) and like 2-3 news blogs =X (CNN and Gothamist are the only 2 I sub to). A couple of friends' blogs but those are all food blogs. Actually, Google Reader is basically my only in for news. I have a personal blog and keep up with some friends that way, too...
Yea, I admit it, I'm an obsessed blogger.
feistyfoodie at 4:09PM on 09/04/08
agree with the google reader comment -- i barely even use my broswer, i'm just scrolling through my RSS feeds all day.
my favorites are:
orangette
avec eric
ruhlman
eater LA
megannesta at 6:11PM on 09/04/08
Other than here:
Lunch - I check it every day. Nice and simple.
Liao Yusheng - sometimes food related.
Bent Objects - sort of food related... :-)
I wish there was a good blog about Breakfast but haven't found one yet!
Sakura at 7:02PM on 09/04/08
Oh, and I like to read Andrew Zimmern's blog Chow & Again, since it's local.
Sakura at 7:03PM on 09/04/08
I just deleted 968 (mostly food) blogs from my reader because I just couldn't handle it anymore. Now I am going to start over.
SamBreach at 7:28PM on 09/04/08
I have no idea why I don't have Google Reader set up. I'm going to tackle that this weekend (in between re-painting and re-decorating my apartment, grocery shopping, cooking/baking, working on setting up new online magazine, etc. etc....how does life get so busy??!)...
Thanks to everyone who posted their favorite food blogs.
I'm another OBSESSED food bloggie and I try to update my own, but it truly is so time-consuming!! How does everyone make time to create and maintain these beautiful works of art!?
I regularly read:
Orangette, Smitten Kitchen, Gluten-Free Girl (although I am not), Matt Bites, Amateur Gourmet, Tea and Cookies, Eat Drink One Woman, Nectar and Light, Bake and Shake, 101 Cookbooks.
And of course Serious Eats and Chowhound.
I have at least 200 more bookmarked on my home and work computers.
There just aren't enough hours in a day...
jbeach at 11:17AM on 09/05/08
I love The Paupered Chef. I've followed Blake & Nick's adventures for the past few years and have never been disappointed.
Ruhlman.com is also great. Most of all though, I love Michael's books. If you haven't read The Making of, Reach of, & Soul of a Chef series, I highly recommend them.
David Lebovitz's blog always inspires me--look up his carottes rapees recipe--my life is better for it. Plus, I'm hoping to join him & Mort Rosenblum on the 'Grand Chocolate Adventure' trip in Paris next year..!
TheChocolateLife.com. is a chocophile community. My 'posting' name there is Ek Chuah (the mayan patron god of cocoa, b/c i'm a big, big nerd.)
lastnightsdinner.net never fails to make my tummy growl.
As for the trashy, fun blogs I visit: gofugyourself.com leaves me in stitches, Rich does a fabulous job at fourfour.typepad.com, and I hit up pajiba.com daily.
Lots of downtime at work-lol.
gastronomeg at 11:39AM on 09/05/08
Not too many, but the very first food blog I got hooked on is The Girl Who Ate Everything -- SE's own Robyn Lee! *holla at Robyn*
Discovered SE through Robyn.. the only other blog I frequent is Eater SF, and the occasional visit at the Chowhound boards.
