Chicago Dining- Lettuce Entertain You

As a wedding gift, my husband and I received a $50 Lettuce Entertain You gift card (Chicago-chain). We're kind of new to the city and could use some advice on the best use of this card. We'd like the best meal possible without adding any of our own money. We're especially interested in the L20 lounge (not tasting menu), but the prices are not online.) Thanks!

No idea how nice they are/price ranges since I don't live there, but my friend LOVES Hub 51 and Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba...I'd suggest checking out reviews of LEY restaurants on Yelp...the Yelp community in Chicago is huge (I'm in KC and jealous of it) and I bet you can find help there.

Also check out LTHForum.com, which has a few threads discussing how to spend Lettuce Entertain You gift certificates. (Some may also mention the L2O prices.) I assume you saw this menu: http://www.l2orestaurant.com/menu.pdf. It has a section called "singular"...maybe that's the lounge menu? But I don't think there's any way you can get in and out of there--even in the lounge--for $50 or less.

I have to admit that I'm not wild about Cafe Ba-Ba-Reba. If I had a gift certificate, I'd consider Brasserie Jo, Tru, Mon Ami Gabi, L2O, Shaw's, Osteria Via Stato or Vong's Thai Kitchen. Tru would also put you over budget, but you could probably eat lunch or two dinner entrees only (but maybe not a starter, dessert or drink) at any of the other places.

I actually did like Cafe Ba Ba Reeba. It could be a fun place to at least try and might be worth spending the gift certificate on! I also enjoy Wildfire (steakhouse) and Big Bowl, but I don't know that they would be truly "different" meals if that's what you're looking for. Enjoy!
