Birthday restaurant with boss near Times Square? Suggestions please!
My "big boss" is visiting our New York office next week and wants to take me and my 2 managers out to dinner to celebrate - my choice.
The problem is our office is in Times Square (42nd & Broadway) so we do not want to venture too far, but at the same time I feel like we have exhausted the "closest, nicest" restaurants in the area. We've already been to Esca, Hells Kitchen, Koi, db bistro moderne, Haru, Metro Marche, and Blue Fin (too many times to count).
Thoughts/suggestions?

Do you like Indian food? There's a place called Utsav on 46th at 6th we used to go all the time for lunch when I was working in that neighborhood. The food is great and it's definetly more upscale.

What about West Bank Cafe, Marseilles (although it's more bistro than upscale), Sushizen (read Gael Green's review), or Kellari Seafood Taverna?

PS -- we need a place with a good drink menu, too. My bosses are big drinkers.

Times Square is tough, but I recently went to a work dinner at Blue Fin at the W Hotel and it was a lot of fun. They have good food and a really comprehensive drink menu. I had a bunch of sushi that was fresh and my co-workers all enjoyed their meals. Some had sushi while others had the steak or chicken. It is fun, loud and a good scene. Makes for good conversation.
