To pulp or not to pulp?

That is the question. So how do you like your OJ? No pulp, strained amlost clear? Thick with all the pulp from your orange, and from the guy's who didn't want any pulp? Or are you somewhere in between? I'm a lots of pulp person. I finally caved and shopped at Fresh and Easy for a few things, and found (much to my joy) double pulp orange juice. What about you?

I dislike pulpy OJ. Actually, I seldom drink any OJ anymore. I'd rather eat an orange.

I like lots of pulp because it keeps me busy. I just don't like bitter and extremely sour orange juice.

If I could have chunks of orange the size and shape of a small car in my OJ it would be fine by me.......

I actually prefer grapefruit juice, and I don't mind the pulp in it. In fact, when I juice grapefruits, I choose the"pulpy" setting as opposed to "pulp free".

I do not like pulp in my OJ but I like vodka in it or asti, go figure

Definitely with pulp. I don't drink carton juice but when I am served (what's advertised as) "fresh squeezed orange juice" at a restaurant, it dang well better have pulp in it.

hehe I'm with Jerzee no pulp and vodka! i seldom drink juice actually, for along time i had trouble controling diabetes so juice was a definate nono. now i try to keep small individual containers on hand just in case of a low sugar. but thats about it.

Whole foods has a really good pulpy organic juice - i think it is their brand but it tastes like you just juiced it. I am a pulpy person. :)

Like huneybumper, I rarely drink juice. When I do, however, I'd prefer that it could double as soup and require chewing. Mmmm pulp.

I like pulp, but not extra pulp. It's flavorful and fiberful and funful. Oh wait. That's not a word.

So much pulp it could nearly walk.
Unless I am mixing it with SierraMist/7Up. Then very, very little.

ugh, pulp... *shiver*

I drink oj every day, when I don't have a glass a day, I feel like I'm missing something. I like a little pulp.

To pulp, or not to pulp, that is the Question:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the minde to suffer
The Tummy Aches and Growlings of outragious Undigested Fruit Chunks,
Or to take Armes against a Sea of Acidulous Juices,
And by opposing end them: to swallow, to drink
No more; and by use of a good cheesecloth and strainer, to say we end
The Heart-Burn, and the thousand Naturall Fartings
That Flesh is heyre too? 'Tis a consummation
Deuoutly to be wish'd. To swallow to drink,
To taste, perchance to digest; I, there's the rub,
For in that swallow of orange chunk, what dreams may come,
When we haue tossed off this entire glassful,
Must giue vs pawse. There's the endless chewing of chunk stuck in tooth
That makes Calamity of so long life:
For who would beare the Muffins and Scones of time,
The Chefs wrong, the poore mans Contumely,
The pangs of dispriz'd Cooking, the Waiters delay,
The insolence of the Maitre’d’, and the unsated hunger
That patient merit of the Foodie takes,
When he himselfe might his Quietus make
With a strained orange juice?

No pulp. I do not like to have to chew my drinks. Mom loves pulpy oj, as a kid I would strain it before drinking.

@foodvox--WOW! an entire adaptation on the topic. and a good one at that.

@beth1 - yeah I kinda got carried away there. Your lead-in was just too irresistible. :)

Pulp. What other drink is there that similarly contains little bobbing floaties like this? Like curdled milk to me. Blech!

I'll drink it any way but I thoroughly enjoy the pulp. I like it when it has just been squeezed!

Chew on That
