Tea or coffee?

I often wonder which one I would choose to keep if I had to give one up. I grew up drinking tea, but discovered the wonderful world of coffee quite early as well. And I've never been a very clearly defined "tea person" or "coffee person".

Of course, I make the choice even more difficult by including a very broad definition of tea and coffee:

*Tea - includes all kinds and colours, as well as iced tea, tea smoked chicken or shrimp, tea jelly, Earl Grey truffles, and so on, and so forth.

*Coffee - includes all kinds of hot drinks (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc), iced coffee, chocolate espresso cake, mocha ice cream, etc., etc.

If you had to, which one would you rather keep?

Easy one. I don't drink coffee.

Ditto. No coffee for me. Uggh!

I just realised that I haven't answered this question myself, that's how difficult it is for me to decide:-). But ultimately - even though I'll miss my iced coffee, and mocha ice cream, and a gazillion of other things coffee - I'll probably stick to tea.

Tea. I like the "coffee" that you can get at IHOP, Perkins, Village Inn and the like, but anythign higher-quality or fancier, I just don't care for.

On the other hand, though, I love tea in most of its forms. I just don't care for chamomile. No idea why, just don't care for it.

Definitely tea.

I'm surprised we have so many tea drinkers this morning. I'd keep the tea (loose leaf). We drink tea every day. Plus I enjoy my green tea mochi ice cream once a year and my Thai or black tea boba every few months. :)

I enjoy both tea and coffee. However, I can't start my day without my pot of coffee...yes, I said pot. Hot, iced, all things mocha....giving up coffee would be painful to me.

I would dearly miss my hot tea w/ lemon and honey when sick or iced mint tea on a summer afternoon.

Easy one for me too - definitely tea.

I drink coffee in the morning but I prefer tea in the afternoon

wow! Coffee for me, hot, iced, just keep the frou frou coffee drinks thanks. No i dont wanta double shot decaf lattee with 1/2 soy and 1/2 skinny, I want coffee!

Tea! All day long...

No question, I need my coffee. (Wasn't this question asked just recently? I might be losing it ...) I'm completely nonfunctional without my coffee fix -- I actually get caffeine headaches when I don't drink enough. Not great at 21, but if that's my biggest problem I'll take it, hah.

i like tea but iced coffee is kind of non-negotiable in my life. drink it every morning, summer or winter!

Both. I drink tea more throughout the day, but an especially tired morning is best jump started with strong coffee.

I enjoy both coffee & tea, but based on the expanded definition, I would keep coffee.

If I had to choose, it would be coffee. But I do love a nice cup of tea in the afternoon...

I love both. I have a cup of coffee every morning when I am at work, but in the middle of the day I have several cups of ginger tea. My favorite tea is Yogi Tea. Yum! So I would definitely have to say I would keep my tea and ditch the joe.

Tea. Must have tea. Don't even need to think about that one. (the bacon or french fries question was a stumper - ultimately decided for bacon) but between tea and coffee, no hesitation. Tea. I have more shelf space in my pantry dedicated to teas and tissanes than to any other type of ingestible.

Coffee only - no question.

Coffee...no doubt. Need it, want it, love it!

Hot coffee or iced tea - - none of the "flavored" or frou frou coffees, just a good roast (or Kona) w/ a bit of cream in my coffee. As far as the iced tea, just plain iced tea w/ a wedge of lemon or lime. :)

Coffee. I grew up drinking iced tea (1-2 gallons/day in my house), but I got away from it and even though I still love it, I rarely bother to make it anymore. I do usually order it in restaurants if I want something other than water (don't do soda) and am not much into coffee with dinner. But the one thing I've been jonesing for lately - coffee (my french press broke and the new one should arrive this week).

Oh wow, that is really difficult! I love both, but I guess I would give up coffee. Tea has more benefits.

I'd have to keep the coffee.

just remember its coffee and red wine drinkers that keep dental hygenists employed and well paid! ;-)

I'm actually surprised there were relatively few "die hard" coffee drinkers, especially considering the broader definition:-)

Coffee, coffee, coffee followed by more coffee.

To paraphrase that hockey tune, I want coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, the time!

Drink shots!

@jeninewsbite - thanks for the laugh!:-)

I'd keep coffee.

I like tea, but it makes me pee more.
