Stumptown
Any transplants from the Pacific NW? Big fans of Stumptown?
I'm not a big coffee drinker... so is this a big deal?
Stumptown Coffee moves to New York

I'm drinking the Organic French Roast at home right now: Most complex, bright and creamy coffee I've ever brewed.

It's really good. I drink the Hair Bender every morning. You should definitely give them a try.

Unless I'm completely mistaken, I believe they serve this at Brooklyn Label, and i've had it many times. Its totally fine. I'm from the Bay Area, so I think that Peets is the gold standard, and Stumptown isn't even close to the taste, smoothness and strength of Peet's. In NYC I think Joe comes closest to the bay area coffee I grew up with.

Is this a coffee brand? How is it compared to the almighty Starbucks (which I despise)? I'd funnel Jagermeister before I'd drink Starbucks.

@Jacqueline
Stumptown is a local coffee chain in Portland, OR. I guess they roast their own coffee and that's what kind of sets them apart. And they are going to open a branch here in the city. But based on what JudgeFudge, who knows... maybe we gotta taste it to believe it.

I moved here from Portland ten months ago and every time I go home or have visitors out, there has to be a Stumptown transport involved. It's indisputably the best coffee I've ever had. It's definitely a big deal, not just for the shops opening, but because a VERY Portland operation is now co-headquartered in Brooklyn. People in Portland are shocked by Duane's move.
You'll all understand very soon, I promise.
Sorry JudgeFudge, but Peet's? Riiiightttt...

Joe uses Barrington Coffee.. we have a really great relationship with them. Of course, that depends if employees know how to make coffee correctly. (I can speak for my coworkers when I say that we do!) Definitely heard great things about Stumptown.
