Santa Fe Recommendations

I'm traveling to Santa Fe next week and am looking for suggestions. Any ideas?

Guadelupe Cafe, 422 Old Santa Fe Trl. Great for brunch. They have authentic New Mexican food and a nice patio. I think I got their Huevos Rancheros with green chile sauce, or something like that, and it was delicious.

I know you're probably referring to food and restaurants, but I am guessing you're gonna go to the Plaza. You have got to go to Plaza Cafe. They make the best pancakes with pine nuts in them. Yum! Plus, there's so many good jewelry makers down at the Plaza, and Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi is a beautiful church right across from the cafe. Check it all out, I love Santa Fe. I'm jealous of you, I'm homesick!

Harry's Roadhouse for breakfast
Bobcat Bite for an awesome burger. Tues - Sat 11-8

I was absolutely referring to food and restaurants - sorry if that wasn't obvious.
Thanks for the ideas.

SantaCafé. Definitely. Skip Tomasitas. I know it's uber popular, but why???

I second Cafe Pasqual's for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Harry's Roadhouse (they make a mole that rivals my grandma's--and that means it's up there with the best in the world), La Casa Sena (good NM cooking), and the little chocolate shop that shares a patio with Casa Sena but whose name I can't remember. (Just ask them at Casa Sena about the chocolate shop that makes the chocolate milagros with gold-leaf.)
Coyote Cafe is terrif--but not open for lunch. Plan accordingly.

And: The cafe associated with the Georgia O'Keefe museum is fine fine fine. Absolutely top notch food with the low-key NM vibe. (If you visit the museum first, I think they offer some kind of deal like 10% off, but we forgot to tell them that and were perfectly happy paying full price.)

Love Santa Fe and totally miss the food.

El Farol - Spanish Food on Canyon Road, Wonderful! Chorizo (Spanish not Mexican) and Olives and Bread!

Tia Sophia - A total hole with the most phenomenal Egg & Potato Breakfast Burrito's (Get is smothered w/ Green Chile) You'll be glad you did. Have only had their breakfast.
210 W San Francisco St, Santa Fe, NM 87501

The Shed has a great cool raspberry soup - paired with grilled shrimp appetizer - not totally Sante Fe but good.
113 1/2 E Palace Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Blue Corn - Two locations - MUST have the Grilled Corn Soup. It is probably a million calories but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. They also are a brewery.
133 W Water St, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Have fun - make sure you drink lots of water!

Another vote for Cafe Pasqual's! If you're a sociable type, sit at a community table.

thank you for all the great suggestions. I am really looking forward to the trip.

Tia Sophia's breakfast burrito---I think of it twice a week---The little place has such a neighborhood feel, they treat you like family.

Pasqual's had an off night - the entree was only so-so and it was one of their more well known dishes. The desserts were weak too. The wine list was good, as always, and the service was excellent. Don't know what was going on (or not going on) but it was the first weak meal I have had at Pasqual's. I had made reservations for Pasqual's two evenings and this experience caused us to cancel the second evening and go elsewhere.

El Mason was a real joy. Delicious tapas and some funky smooth jazz music. Nice wine selection.

The Shed did not disappoint. Fantastic red chili.

Blue Corn Cafe was great. Best margarita in town and really lovely green chili stew.

Casa Sena - ooh, not a good experience. A bad meal and bad service. I'll try it again, at least I think I will, but I was sorely disappointed.

An unexpected treat was the Santa Fe Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. A gorgeous array of fruits, veg, new mexico standards like roasted green chili, some craft items and overall lots of fun.
