Restaurants in Vancouver-not expensive, just really good food

Going to Vancouver in Octover and looking for some great food-doesn't have to be 5 star-just delicious. Very open to most food except we are not big fans of Indian food.

I've heard Guu is amazing sushi, but only open for dinner. Sophie's Cosmic Cafe for breakfast. Pizza by the slice anywhere downtown is very cheap, but surprisingly tasty for what you're paying.

Construction is all over downtown, so beware.

And check out my previous question about Vancouver (I went there in July).

Gyoza King. Sounds like a corner teryiaki shop...is actually amazing.

Chinese food is awesome there! I recommend going to Richmond for some steamed pork dumplings. There's a few good places, but I think Shanghai House at 6340 - No. 3 Road across from Richmond Center is the best. Fish and chips in Steveston.
Also, Chambar (Belgian) is a must for mussels congolaise in Vancouver.
Guu with Garlic on Thurlow and in Richmond are open for lunch, but dinner is much better.

Ezogiku is a pretty good and cheap noodle bar.

My girlfriend's roommate is from Vancouver and she shes says a place called shabusen or any sushi on robson st.

Oh hell. There were a ton more.
chambar great beer list and good food butlil pricier
main st area is an up coming pop area wig students and young people
foundation - hearty vegetarian food
vijs in s. granville, contemporary Indian food
north shore- is quattro good Italian food

I heard Rob Feenie is doing some recipes for the Cactus Club. Sounds like a moderate priced chain, though I've never been there.

Last time I was in Vancouver I ate at a place called Joe Fortes. It was excellent!
