Does anyone else eat their pancakes/waffles this way?
Whenever I eat pancakes or waffles, I always get a fried egg (over easy) on the side. After applying butter and syrup to pancakes, I put the egg on top, so I get a bite of egg with every bite of pancake. Of course, the best bites are the ones with the runny yolk.
I have ordered my pancakes like this for years, and waiters always comment that they have never seen that before. It's the way my grandmother always ate pancakes. Anybody else? Just curious :)

I've never tried it, but that sound freaking delicious. I'm going to try it.

That actually sounds quite appealing. Maybe that's just because it's nearing midnight and I'm suggestible when tired. But I think I'd like to order eggs and pancakes at a diner and try your method of eating them together.

replace pancakes with any potatoe product and thats me. as for the pancakes and waffles, for me they are incomplete without both a nicely fenneled sausauge and real maple syrup. place sausage on pancake, pour syrup over top and enjoy!
about the eggs, i dont know what it is but i have progressed/ digressed from my late childhood of scrambled eggs to what now can only be described as extremely warm raw eggs! completely runny yolks, half set whites, still plenty of runny white.

Yes and it's absolutely delicious! Bonus if bacon and/or sausage make an appearance.

My egg is sunny-up and is used on two of the pancakes/waffles. Save the syrup for the third and final "course".

No. I have dipped breakfast sausage or bacon into the syrup (always real syrup and never Aunt Jemima's), but the idea of an egg with that mix doesn't appeal to me at all.

If you hold the syrup I would definitely dive into it. Anything with runny yolk is my favorite. Add pancakes and even better. The image of runny yolk in waffles, in the little squares, makes be tingle. Though I would need a massive glass of milk to follow.
Next time a waiter comments - tell them that you would offer them a taste but its too yummy and you want to eat it all! ;o)

i sometimes will eat a kashi waffle with a runny yolked egg on top, seems to really hit the spot some nights for dinner. But no butter and especially no syrup. i cant handle syrup on waffles most of the time anyway. on rare occasions i'll top a really good homemade waffle with a little honey but thats about it.

No. Absolutely not. Uncooked yolk is the worst thing. Ever. Scrambled eggs are fine-completely fried eggs are ok (just started eating them).
My parents eat pancakes the way you do-they used to try and get me to eat it. I wanted no parts of it-I would steal the white part though. :)

Sounds great to me! If you can eat chicken and waffles, it's not a broad leap to eggs and pancakes.

You need to come here to French speaking Canada. My bretheren at the Cabane à Sucre (sugar shack) serve a lunch with includes pancakes and eggs which are poached in maple syrup. The sweet mapely eggs are just gorgeous over the tender pancakes.

The maple syrup egg combination isn't something I can quite wrap my head around...

I do this all the time. I actually put the waffles or pancakes with any egg style plus butter, syrup and ketchup. If sausage or bacon is involved, that gets added as well. Soo good!!

Pancakes I just have the usual butter and syrup. If I have overripened bananas around then I smoosh them into the batter before putting on the griddle then putting butter and syrup on them. Waffles I will only have them with butter, blueberry syrup and unsweetened whip cream un top with bacon on the side. Yum, think I will have to whip a batch up.

I have never had an egg with waffles or pancakes but I LOVE when an egg over easy dribbles onto my hash browns or toast. Yum.

my dad used to gross me out when i was a kid in the early 60's ordering raw egg on rice at our japanese restaurant (his tour of duty was in japan during the korean conflict... i ate raw fish WAY before it was cool). nearing my 50's i've discovered this is really perfect... the very hot rice cooks the egg to absolute perfection. but i can't stand my egg near my pancakes. potatoes, yes, a well cooked egg is the best.
waffles? i love peanut butter and syrup.
if i could have all the above in one setting, and not gain a pound, i might die happy (and biscuits and gravy, of course!)!
