Do you read menu items out loud?
The other night, I couldn't help but overhear the couple in the booth behind me, since they were talking a little louder than a normal conversational level.
First thing I hear is, Oh, you'd like this, Sam,"...and she proceeds to read the menu description to him. I'm thinking this is sweet, he probably forgot his reading glasses, and she's reading stuff to him to help him find something he'd like.
But then he says, "You might like this one, Alice..." and he reads an item to her. They go back and forth reading off items that one or the other might like, or was thinking about ordering.
Do you do this? DH and I will usually chat about what we're thinking about ordering, but we usually just name the dish, and if the other person asks, we'd point it out on the menu or say which section it's in.
