Do you ever dream about food or cooking?

One night I woke up after dreaming about baking cookies for what seemed like the whole night. I woke up several times during the night, and each time, I was in the midst of baking more and more and more cookies.

And sometimes I wake up without a clear recollection of the dream, but I know what it was about. One morning I woke up knowing that I absolutely had to bake brownies.

One time, it was an Iron Chef type of competiton.

Sometimes I'll dream that I'm going to eat some food, but I don't recall ever actually eating it in a dream. It's more like I get served, but I wake up before I get to taste.

How 'bout you?

Yeah, but in that awful, 'can't quite catch up' way you do when food is also your work.
I usually take constant dreaming of work as a sign I am getting really done with my job. If it causes me to dream about it in a stressful way almost constantly, that is a bad thing and time for a change.

Wish I could have GOOD food dreams though...yum!

I have a recurring dream that I'm inside one of those playground ball pits, but instead of plastic balls I'm surrounded by Chick-fil-A sandwiches and the only escape is to eat my way out. I've had this dream at least 5 or 6 times.

Further, two nights ago it had a new twist, instead of Chick-fil-A's the pit was filled with hush puppies.

lol... all true. I love hush puppies and CFA so I really can't complain too much. :)

Every time I dream of food...I'm in a fantastic food shop with gorgeous food on the shelves..and every time I try to reach for something ..it turns into nothing or is just out of reach... what does it mean?

I dream of food and cooking almost every night! I take meds that give me odd dreams and so far I haven't had any disturbing ones thank goodness!

My sister was visiting from Denver after Wii came out with Cooking Mama and after playing I was woken up to see her "stirring" and talking about the game in her sleep! That was funny haha.

Just last night, I dreamed I was visiting family and I woke to a breakfast of grilled steak and potatoes. First I could not find a knife anywhere and my steak kept sliding off the plate. I woke up before I ever got to taste the steak.

I often dream about food and food prep. That I'm a sleepwalker means that sometimes it's not all a dream.... Thank goodness that I have good knife skills!

None I can remember, but I made my chef friend my spicyspicy omelet (so spicy that I only make it for others, and never myself), and HE had a dream about it :P

Every night, these days. On a bad night, it's anxiety dreams about work, usually peppers right now, but on a good night, I dream recipes.

I dream about food service, being in the industry. Nightmares about never being able to catch up, having thirteen tables that all need something, and coming up short with my cashout are the dreams that I can't stand.

If I happen to have one too many cocktails, I will dream about what I want to rehydrate with. Sometimes I will drive to the store when I wake up and buy milk, apple juice, gatorade and dr.pepper, because I dreamed of them all.

I can't eat anything with yeast in it. I often dream about eating pizza, the last time I had that dream I subconsciously new in my dream that the pizza would make me sick, that sucked.
Last week I dreamed that I was making ribs on a grill, all I really remember was that I was missing an ingredient for the sauce.

I had a dream I was a salad once, in a bowl. That was pretty weird.

Oh and a friend of mine once fell asleep sitting and I saw her suddenly leaning and doing this biting thing. When I woke her she said she dreamt she was taking a bite of a burger and somebody took it away and she look so sad!

I don't remember if I've ever dreamt of eating (although many many years ago I had a dream of being eaten by a lion, but I doubt it counts), but I've certainly dreamt of cooking (and new recipes) on numerous occasions. Several times I've woken up absolutely determined to cook that new thing I dreamt about or use that new idea I had in my dream, and as far as I remember, it has always worked quite well!

I once dreamed that I opened a book and the middles of each page were cut out. Each time I turned a page, a new food would appear in the recess. I would gobble everything on each page. I have to stop reading so many food books...

When I had my first visit to a particular local ice cream shoppe, that night I dreamed of the Mexican Vanilla I'd eaten. Needless to say, it's been my favorite since "hello."

dbcurrie;
I've had the Iron Chef dream too!
(my secret ingredient was peanut butter????) weird.

I've also awoken with the strong urge for Sushi when I dreamt that I was making it--but everytime I would try to do the cigar roll; the seaweed paper would break-apart into tiny, tiny pieces causing me to attempt the roll with all of the toppings ALL OVER AGAIN!
It was frustrating but I sure craved it in the morning!

I dreamed once I was a little girl crawling around in my grandmother's kitchen, watching her cook in her cast-iron skillets.

Since she -- along with Momma and my other maw-maw -- taught me to cook, it was probably a good memory that came back in a dream!
