Dining at Disney World
I'm going to be at Disney in December, and I'm looking for a nicer restaurant to celebrate my birthday at. Any recommendations?

My husband and i went there last year for our anniversary. Epcot has several upscale restaurants (however--DO NOT let your reservations agent book you for the Norweigan restaurant Akershus (sp?) for a nice meal. The place is a wreck because there are children running everywhere, dropping and throwing food. They host a "Princess dining experience." The appetizer course is a buffet--thus causing the traffic and dropped food. Worse if you're a couple). The French place is good. Wolfgang Puck's in Downtown Disney is totally worthwhile. The Yacht Club is really great if you want steak. Their dessert sampler is the best. If you can still get in, Victoria and Albert's is well worth it. Before you go, book your meals through the Disney meal plan--it's the best deal for food. It covers all you meals and one snack per day. We could not eat all the food on this plan. It allows you to make all your dinner reservations with minimal hassle.

We liked the german place in epcot it was a great place to eat and drink.
Everyone runs to Emeril's I did not like the menu I thought it was something I could get at home. WP is always going to be a good menu.
We went to the Boston Lobster Feast which are little lobsters and as many as you can throw down, its not great but it was good.

I agree with JerzeeTomato about the German place. You have to like the whole leiderhosen/alpenhorn shtick; but the food and beer is awesome.

I love the Moroccan restaurant - great food, live music and belly dancing!

There is a yummy resturant that is seafood. The Coral Reef resturant in Epsot. You are surrounded by HUGE fish tanks that are so lovely. They also have some fun food choices I had spicy rattlesnake sausage that was delish. I didn't have kids at the time but I don't rember there being any in the resturant. I too liked the wolfgang puck place in downtown disney it has amny wonderful choices and is a higher end choice. This might help you do it is a link to resturant options you enter what you want it tells you where to go.http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/dining/advancedDiningFinder?id=AdvancedDiningFinderPage

I forgot about the Coral Reef; I have not eaten there, but if you go at the right time of day you will see SCUBA divers in the tank - we dove it two years ago and the food looked really good.

Citrico's at the Grand Floridian and California Grill at the Contemporary are both fantastic. The food is fresh, creative and fancy-pants NYC restaurant level delicious.
Victoria & Albert's is even more stunning, but really pricey. If you can get in, go! If not - any of the "signature" restaurants are great, and I've heard good stuff about Le Cellier and Tutto Italia at Epcot. (Trying both for the first time on my upcoming trip...)
Check out disboards.com's restaurant board for more detailed info and menus.

My husband and I have been to DisneyWorld twice this year and have had wonderful meals at the signature restaurants. Artist Point is our new favorite, but you can't go wrong with California Grill. If you like adventurous dining, try Jiko.

My husband and I love Le Cellier (and an amazing little something called the cheddar cheese beer soup!) in the Canada Pavilion for the service and atmosphere. Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge also has an exceptional menu and is a bit quieter. There's a new restaurant in the Contemporary called The Wave that's supposed to boast a super healthy/ bio-dynamic-organic menu. If you really want to get psyched check out the dining page on http://www.allears.net- they have updated menus for every place on the property.

Hey there,
It depends on your budget and tastes but WDW has a plethora of dining available, most of which is really good (the bad ones I won't mention).
For upscale dining, I suggest Victoria's and Albert's (esp. the Chef's Table) at the Grand Floridian, California Grill at the top of the Contemporary, Artist's Point in Wilderness Lodge or Jiko in Animal Kingdom Lodge.
In the parks, some of my favorite sit-down meals include Le Cellier in Canada in Epcot and Marrakesh in Morroco in Epcot.
Elsewhere, Spoodles on the Boardwalk and Raglan Road on Pleasure Island.
I have some Disney dining reviews on my blog, The Average Cook as well (http://foodiedani.wordpress.com)
Good luck!
