Diet Coke & Lime

So, I gotta ask who here drinks this? I'm curious how far stretched this particular concoction is as it's not uncommon here at all. I'm also curious how far stretched the coke brand version of this available bottled in the supermarket is....it's disgusting though. Gotta be a fresh lime macerated into a cup of ice with a diet coke poured atop. This beverage is the reason I've never been quite able to kick my diet soda habit. :(

waaaa-a-a-a-a-ay better than frickin "diet coke LIME." just because it's artificially sweetened doesn't mean they have to artificially lime-itize it!!

I agree though, regular diet coke, with real delicious lime is the best.
I spent a week in yelapa, mexico, in february, and drank it every day - multiple times.

so there's an answer for you - it's spread to Seattle, and all the way down to yelapa.
:)

Good to know! :D

I'm much closer to Yelapa than Seattle. ;)

I drink Diet Coke & Lime with Captain Morgan...Does that count? I think that is rather refreshing.:)

Hey girly ~ looks like I am right behind you tonight. LOL Captain Morgan ~ I hear all soda tastes better with a little Captain!

I don't drink soda (except Perrier and I don't think of that as soda). But if your inclined, put fresh citrus in it please!

I'm not shy to add some rum to my lime 'n diet coke :P

A rum 'n coke or a roman coke as I call it....

I'm not surprised the canned/bottled diet coke with citrus never really caught on. Seriously, fresh lemon or lime is SO much better! I'm a fresh lemon juice + diet coke fan, myself, but to each his/her own!

Wow, I thought I was the only one who adored diet coke with lime (REAL lime- the diet coke with it already added is just gross)... The most decadent way is with crushed ice served in a julep cup. Yummmmm....

I'm also a fan of Diet Coke with real lime; I know soda isn't great for you to begin with, but the artificial add-ins scare me even more!

That was my favorite drink when I worked the line. Now I want one.

Just had one of these with dinner - diet coke with a twist of real lime, not the actual beverage in question. I agree, there's something chemical-y and really nasty about the lime "flavoring" - give me fresh citrus any day.

yep, white rum, Diet Coke and a lime wedge is the only diet soda I allow myself any more. I know I'm probably giving myself cancer, but it makes those free Vegas drinks less caloric...

Gosh, I was putting fresh lime in my Coke for the last 25 years so just figured the Coke people were copying me! But seriously, a wedge of lime in soda (w or w/o the rum) is my "go to" when I'm in the mood for soda.

The Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi with Lime is VERY popular in "this" market area. Often times when both brands are on sale, the Diet Coke/Pepsi with Lime is one of the first to run out.

I prefer vanilla diet coke. I like lime in my diet coke with certain mexican dishes but the preflavored tastes like a chemical bath. It is repulsive. I may be an organic mom but I will never give up my vanilla diet coke. :)

Not digging the diet coke at all. Think I'll pare it down a bit and have rum with a twist of lime. Yeah, that's the ticket! ;-)

I've been drinking Diet Coke with lime for 20 years. Don't bother with the fake lime Diet Coke...take the time to squeeze a fresh lime in your glass yourself -- DEEEELISH!

I'm fond too, though I like a wedge squeezed in, not macerated. I've had an order of diet coke served garnished with lime at at least a few restaurants through the bay area and California. I think we can all agree that fake lime flavored is gross. I like a rum and coke to chill out at home with frequently too, though I've never been fond of spiced rum- I just grab a big bottle of bacardi gold when I see a good price. Hmm, speaking of which, 7:00 already, it may be cocktail hour...
