Delicious eats in Toronto?
I'm visiting Toronto and I haven't found delicious food quite yet. Really looking for dumplings (Dumpling House was pretty good) and gelato, but any kind of amazing food will do.

Pho hung! Delicious pho. Super cheap. One on spadina at kensington market. One on bloor street across from the ROM.

Not sure about dumplings but here's some gelato suggestions:
Hollywood Gelato on Bayview Ave. south of Eglinton Ave.
La Paloma, on St. Clair West (don't know intersection, but it's the north Little Italy, as opposed to the one on College St.)
Or you can walk along LIttle Italy on College Street and randomly try one.
As for other "amazing food": Pick a neighourhood.

I second the Pho hung!

What's so great about Pho Hung? It's a cheap and typically ordinary chain, a little grimy and dull. Go only if you're feeling broke and in a hurry.
Is Avalon still around? I had an amazing dinner there years ago...ah, the fois gras! But it was chere, tres, tres chere.

Amazing food at Sassafraz near St. George above Bloor, although the last time I was there, there was a fire in the kitchen, and I'm not sure if it reopened since then. I also LOVE the Ethiopian food at Ethiopia House on Yonge near Wellesley.

What's so great about Pho Hung? Tasty pho, dirt cheap? Isn't that enough.
Not every meal has to be "chere, tres, tres chere".

Burrito Boyz is good, but be ready to line up for awhile

Sassafraz is open, but my husband's cousin used to work there and didn't really think the food was all that great. She knows what she's talking about.
For gelato, I like Solferino near the Flatiron Building; smaller selection than some but all very delicious. Dumplings I'm no expert, depends on what you're looking for I think - fancy versus cart style dim sum versus whatnot.
There's lots of delicious food here! What area do you want to know about? Other types of food you like?

Baldwin st in between McCaul and Spadina has a wide variety of delicious food to offer. Konichiwa has a simple menu of great authentic Japanese, I have been addicted to their Udon for years, and their gyoza could satisfy your dumpling urge. Il Gelatiere Artgianale on mt. pleasant near eglinton has some great gelato, just don't dare ask for a sample. These are just a couple of my personal favourites; Toronto has a whole lot of wonderful food to offer.

Ethnic food is great in Toronto! Indian, Chinese, Greek....the list goes on. Go to little Indian and grab some samosa, or St Lawrence Market if you are looking from great ingredients. I love the west Indian food too, rotis, doubles, patties...mmmm.
