Eating Out

Cubano Especial (Omaha, NE)

I sometimes get vaguely miffed that food magazines, blogs, and sites often opt to skip mid-size cities (like Omaha) for deep coverage of places like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on. However, it's not often that I'm passionate enough about restaurant food (I prefer my own cooking) to post in protest.

The sandwich I had today at the Gusto Cuban Cafe (about 79th & Harrison) was nothing short of fantastic. It's called the Cubano Especial (the special being chorizo). I snapped a picture and put it on my Flickr. It came with plantain chips, too, which were the perfect combination of sweet and salty - skip the fries.

Cheers!
