Creme Fraiche
I bought some creme fraiche on a whim b/c it's hard for me to find, but I don't have any idea what to do with it at the moment! I know it can be used in place of sour cream and in desserts on the side. But where else can it be used? Pasta? Other savory dishes?

It can also be used in recipes that call for heavy cream -- it's essentially cream that's been allowed to naturally sour.
I've used it in this recipe for cream biscuits; they've gotten rave reviews when done this way.

I've been putting it in anything i'ld put sour cream in. I've also sweetened it with fruit and fruit juice to top pound cake and other desert. I saw an old Julia Child episode where she demonstrated how to make it if you couldn't get it or find it, and ever since I just keep it on hand!
Mix 1 part sour cream, to two parts heavy cream in a jar and in a day it's virtually the same as creme fraiche!

Mmmm...fold with whipped cream to ice a cake or plop on a dessert (though I like it alone on dessert too!) Fantastic on fruit crisps/cobblers.
I love it in place of sour cream in several things, I think it blends better and never separates if I add it too late to a hot dish.

When I did catering, I would make a horseradish creme fraiche and put it on nice rolls with fresh sliced roast beef.
