Cincinnati
I'm moving to the Cincinnati at the end of August (Clifton Area to be exact) and I was wondering what restaurants would be worth my hard-earned money? I'm currently in Columbus so I'm familiar with Graeter's and Skyline (obviously) but I want to know more! I'm also not big on ritzy, expensive eating out, unless the parents are paying, so anything that's a good value and tasty is aces in my book!

Go across the river to the Turfway exit off of 75/71. On the west side of the interstate you can find a Famous Dave's BBQ. Yeah, it's a chain, and I've eaten in some pretty crappy FD's (Augusta, GA being the worst). But...for chain 'cue, you could do a lot worse.
The remoulade they serve with their fried catfish rawks, too! Good luck with the move!
Oh...and on the north end, The Porch for all Sorts at the Montgomery/Ertel Fields exit has awesome spicy garlic wings. Sports bar atmosphere. This is the first exit north of 275 on 71.

Born and raised in Cincy, moved away a few years ago. Here are some of my recommendations:
High end: any of the Jean Robert places can't be beat, there's a new bistro style place in northern kentucky that i haven't been to yet but have heard good things about. All the Jeff Ruby places (Carlo and Johnny's, etc.) have fantastic steaks, at reasonable prices (especially living in nyc now, where a good steak is $$$$$), their steaks are dry aged on premises. Montgomery Inn for high end bbq. In my opinion, the best sushi in town is located at Kyoto in a non-descript strip mall on montgomery rd in symmes. Unbelievably fresh.
Cheaper: A fairly new place, representative of the increasing amounts of latin americans in the city is Tacqueria Maya on Mason Montgomery up in fields ertel...really good tortas, tacos, soup. Skyline is obvious. Penn Station for cheesesteaks and Jersey Mikes for sandwiches. In clifton, there's a really good vietnamese restaurant called Pho...there's another vietnamese place that's popular in the roselawn area but i can't remember the name off the top of my head. Also in clifton is mayura, which has been going downhill since it was sold.
That's all i can think of off the top of my head, i'm sure i'll thing of more as the day goes by.

Also grew up in Cincy. Live now in DC. But, I actually lived in Clifton when I was in law school... right on the corner of Clifton and Ludlow across the street from Skyline. I put on a few pounds that first year.
Right there on Ludlow is the place I learned to love Indian food... Ambar India... its a half block down from Graeter's and moderate. Up on Calhourn, there is a nice pizza place, Pomadori's. In Mt. Lookout, there is a classic burger place, Zip's.
I'd be happy to email you more ideas if you need them... you can find my email through by following my profile.

Dewy's pizza is great. It is near campus but I am not sure which street. Camp Washington Chili is good too, it is near the Hopple St exit from 75.

Go to the diner that skyline is trying to be: Pleasant Ridge Chili. PRC is great for coneys, gravy cheese fries, and plenty of locals.

How about some ideas that AREN'T chains or chili?
I have lived in the Cincinnati area (NW of) since 1996 and I am still looking for good restaurants that aren't chains and since I can't stand Cincinnati style chili those places are out too.

Wow, thanks for all the responses! I just read a review of Terry's Turf Club...appparently they have an excellent burger and good beer selection. I will have to investigate.
