Wildwood BBQ on Park makes a pretty good Mint Julep. Very strong though!

I had a great one at Savoy on Prince St. It was served in a metal cup which think is traditional. Yum.

Death & Co. Hands down it's not even close

Death & Co. is not a place I would patronize; it has a terrible track record in the neighborhood.

Death & Co is fantastic. Alex is a really nice, sweet, talented bartender, and Kelvin, the doormand, has been nothing but pleasant to me and my fiance.
Not sure what the "terrible track record" comment is about, Barbara; my understanding is that a single upstairs neighbor has a vendetta against the place. Do you have a noise complaint? The bar closes at midnight each night and the doorman takes pains to ensure there aren't large, rowdy crowds on the sidewalk.

@Kathryn--Let's not continue this; we're off topic. Ask the folks at the synagogue down the block.

I'm co-signing with Kathyrn unless you have a very specific beef with ownership that you are willing to "air-out' (that is you can vouch for, not second hand information) you shouldn't go around writing things you "hear" that can impact a business, you would not like it if someone did that to you. Alex is awesome, the owner is cool and bar is quiet.

How a benign mint julep thread has devolved into Holocaust allusions is both fascinating and freakish...

im a fan of death and co - service there has always been great, the atmosphere is nice and it feels more like a throwback to the speakeasy era than anything war/scary-related. plus when i've been they're pretty on top of not letting people hang out in front so i dont' know how it gets so noisy for neighbors (when it's too crowded they take your number and call you when you can come in, so there's never any stupid line out front).
sorry for being off topic - more to the point, the mint juleps at death & co are pretty bomb and come topped with a huge bunch of fresh mint and served in a pretty silver cup yay.
