Talk Home Page... Topic Reply-Count Problems
Noticed the number of replies listed for posts on the Talk Home page are often wrong (not updating properly?). Not a biggie, but if you use that page to monitor discussions at-a-glance, you may not realize there are actually new posts...

@LoCo: Thanks for the head's up. I'm looking into it.

@LoCo: I fixed the bug. Should all be working now. Please give a shout if you see any more odd behavior!

@Raphael... Thanks so much!
And, since you asked... there is one other thing I've noticed since my return to the site...
;-)
I think it's cool that you guys decided to limit the length of the initial post for a new topic. However, did you know that html code characters are counted in the total character count? That means a minimum of seven characters lost for one code entry. Obviously, this is not critical, and we can easily choose to leave out HTML, or to add a "jump" post...
But it might be nice if you could throw us an extra 10 or 20 spaces in the initial post character limit...
Just a thought!
Happy 4th!

@LoCo: I increased the length of Talk topics from 1500 to 2000 characters - how's that?
Raphael at 2:15PM on 07/03/08
Huh? From 1,500 characters? In the initial thread post? I've only started two or three new talk topics since I returned to the site a weeks ago, but they were all limited to something less than 300 characters... not sure of the exact number, but I know the original post in this thread used up nearly all the available characters. I think I've seen others comment on it, too.
Site Malfunction?
Operator Error?
