Sandwiches for picnic in Prospect Park, Brooklyn NY!
I'm going to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden with friends tomorrow morning and would like afterward to get some sandwiches to bring into Prospect Park for a picnic. Can you recommend any good places for sandwich stuff to go near the Brooklyn Botanic Garden/Brooklyn Museum/Grand Army Plaza? I know where I can get picnic fixings on 7th ave in Park Slope, but I would prefer not to walk all the way through the park to get food and then back again. Thanks.

You can go to Union Market at Union St. and 6th Ave. - they have tons of gourmet bread, meat, cheese, spreads, and vegetables. There are also some well-stocked bodegas if you walk along 7th Ave.

FYI, Brooklyn Botanic Garden has a Zagat's rated restaurant! You can have great sandwiches right in the cafe :)

Too late-- but for next time, there is a Key Food grocery store on the corner of Washington & Eastern Parkway directly across the street from the Brooklyn Museum.
