Pain Poilane in NY?
Anybody know where to find the French bread in the city? Fairway seemed the likely choice, but when phoned, they were clueless. (Weird and disappointing.) Also negatives: Ceci Cela and Dean and Deluca.
Help, s'il vous plaît!

I've seen it at Balducci's in Bethesda, MD, so you might try the NYC stores.

Have you tried Zabars? If all else fails I think you can order it from Zingermans.

I am guessing this is for some type of experiment or tasting since New York boasts so many fine bread bakers. If not may I suggest that you lower your carbon footprint and eat New York bread!! Balthazar surely has something that will measure up!
