Organic Seeds for the Vegetable Garden

I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for where to get seeds for a vegetable garden, preferably organic and/or heirloom varieties. We just rotated our second set of veggies in for the summer which we got from starts from Seattle Tilth, but now I'm starting to think ahead to the fall.

I have been a customer since 1990. I recommend them highly.

Renee's Garden -- her seeds are not organic, but they are high quality, untreated seeds with varieties you can't find elsewhere. I've had the best of luck with these seeds, over any others I've tried (both organic and non).

Try Botanical Interests. They sell at many garden centers, and have recently started selling online. The owner is a big fan of organic and heirloom plants if they are available. And he's anice guy, too. Does a lot of seed donations, etc.

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. www.rareseeds.com I ordered from them this year for the first time- and I have applause for them the whole way around. I received my order very promptly, and when they were out of something, sent me an e-mail asking if I'd like a substitute or a refund.

I also had very high germination this year from my seeds from them. In particular, I ordered some hot chile peppers, and the seed packet specifically stated that they had experienced low germination- as a result, they packed extra seeds into the packet. I had no troubles at all on my part, and the plants are thriving. Their service really can't be beat.

I also ordered from Johnny's, and while I don't have any particular beef with them- most of their seeds are not organic and many are genetically modified. They do state which ones have been GMO, but I will likely not order from them in the future, since I was so pleased with BC.

http://www.seedsavers.org/ is great. All heirloom, some are also organic.

I'm personally fond of the Southern Exposure Seed Exchange: I've only just started using them earlier this year, but I've already got some really tall heirloom tomato plants from the seeds I put down in May.
