Mascarpone Custard? Recipe Recommendations Requested...
I seem to be obsessed with the idea of a mascarpone custard. Googling turned up some that look interesting, but we all know how difficult it can be to judge an untried recipe...
So, of course I turn to my trusted SE friends! Please post a good one!

BTW, my obsession started with a beautiful bucket of fresh-picked blueberries brought to me from Amish country... And I've had a container of mascarpone calling my name from the fridge for about a week now. So, I'm thinking along the lines of a shortcake or trifle type of assembly, using the mascarpone custard in lieu of the usual whipped cream, ice cream, pastry custard, etc. I guess a panna cotta or even a cheesecake type filling might work, too.
This shouldn't be so difficult. I've just got so much going on in my "real" life right now, that all food brainstorming skills have hit the skids.

loco, there's a great sounding recipe in cooking for mister latte where she combines mascarpone with eggs and sugar and then tops apricots with it and bakes it. if you don't have the book, i''l post it.

You could start with your favorite tiramisu recipe and modify the flavors - say limoncella instead of brandy/kahlua. If you don't have a favorite, try Ina Garten's recipe; she is a reliable source.

@kjgibson - I love Ina's recipe! I did it for 100 for a cater. Here's what it looked like midway through dessert.
Here's an elaborate preparation for a dessert - but it contains a mascarpone custard recipe you might like to try.
Here's a recipe by someone named Chef Don for a lemon mascarpone custard.
