Love Love Love Louisiana food?
What's your favorite south Louisiana restaurant? That one that never fails, has the best (fill in blank like gumbo, hush puppies, boudin, etoufee, fish bowl beers, etc.) in the world and omgoodness you just gotta' go there....? I've got a list of top 10 (plus or minus a few) going for recommendations to locals and visitors alike and I'll add yours...Thanks!

We used to schedule an overnight in Lafayette, LA every time we drove to or from Fort Worth to South Florida. Prejeans is for me the essence of Cajun. They had a food booth at this year's NO Jazzfest and nothing could have me happier than to enjoy one more time their extraordinary food.

I was fortunate to work in Louisiana for about 8 months prior to Katrina. We found some holes in the wall that made me happy on every trip.
In La Place (on I-10, just before you start to cross Lake Ponchartrain), there is a little dive called "Bully's" - my first taste of fried catfish in my life, and I was hooked!
In Breaux Bridge (off of I-10, just a few miles east of Lafayette), travel south at the main Breaux Bridge exit a few miles. There is a little tiny shack on the left. We watched 2 elderly women clean shrimp at one of the back tables while we ate a fried basket that was pure heaven.
Everyone raves about ACME Oyster House in the French Quarter, but the lines are very long. Catty-corner across the street is Felix' - the oysters at the oyster bar were plump, cold and delicious. When we were taken to our table, the service was awesome.

I was in New Orelans for the Fourth of July. I didn't make it to Mother's or Ralph & Kacoos, but I mamaged to hit the rest of my favorites:
