Looking for a good cheeseburger in Sacto...

Help! I am from Texas and here visiting a friend for the next few days... I need a good burger in a bad way. Do they have good burgers here in Sacto? Like the ones in Houston? Surprise me...

hmm...burgers in sac are few and far between and I've never been to houston so I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. I dunno where you are staying, but I've heard good things about the squeeze inn. I've never been because fruitridge blvd is way far out of my way but it was featured on the foodnetwork if that's worth anything. There's also Nationwide, in midtown (19th and H) which has good burgers. Willies off broadway on 16th has pretty good burgers, but I think they are more cali-style (think in-n-out). Willies has really really great milkshakes as well. Honestly, if it's meat you are after, I recommend find a taqueria that has California burrito. Although the rest of their food is just decent, Oscar's on freeport blvd has really great California burritos-it's carne asada, cheese, pico de gallo and french fries all wrapped up in a tortilla...delicious! have fun!

I've been looking for a good burger here for about a year. I've also heard good things about the Squeeze Inn, but haven't made it over there. Some friends of mine swear by Ward's in Land Park.
Willie's is okay -- their chili fries are the main attraction for me.

I'll be interested to see the other recommendations!

ok, I'll bite. What's sacto? Sacramento?

The "Yelpers" recommend Jamie's Bar & Grill (427 Broadway), which I admit I haven't tried yet. (But I might, after reading the posts!) Also, Suzie Burger (28th & P, I think) is sort of a local fast-food place. Good in a pinch, but nothing outstanding.

Murder Burger in Davis is tasty

Is Tiny's still open? They were on Fulton.

Those were monster and delicious!
