Please forgive me if this has already been posted somewhere, I couldn't find it on Required Eating and just thought it was the cutest article ever, and I am not a cutesy person!

It would probably help if I posted the link..... http://nymag.com/restaurants/features/48504/

That is definitely sweet. I'm not much for fluff but we need to inject stories like that into our lives so we can take a minute to smile.

I needed that - thank you! :-)

i read that yesterday and thought it was so darling!

@embolini - thanks! I've been in bed with the nastiest flu for the last 3 days and could really use a smile!

My son and his friend had a lemonade stand out this weekend. I knew they were undercharging!

just. darling. yes, thanks for sharing!

When I picked up my niece from preschool there were two "alumni" of the preschool who had set up a lemonade stand in front of the school. The proceeds were to set up an emergency fund for the Sleepy Hollow School's animals (fyi the gerbil needed surgery last week).

A small cup (a dixie cup) was a nickel.
A large cup was a quarter.

The recipe: Crystal Light. My 4 year old niece pronounced it "quite zingy." Now she wants to set up a lemonade stand, too.

Thanks embolini9. Heartwarming! Also brought back memories of my lemonade stands when I was a kid. My girls had it made when they were little. We had one of those big electric boxes on the side of our property near the street. Made a perfect lemonade/iced tea table. Sometimes cookies or brownies, and even hot chocolate in the winter. Our subdivision was just getting started, so there were tons and tons of construction workers driving by all day, as well as people visiting the sample homes. They made tons of money, had fun and it kept them occupied for hours on end. Neighbors would stop and linger, so it was fun for me, too. Often, their friends would help and the money got split with them, too. They kept a little for themselves, paid me for supplies and donated the rest. A great entreprenurial, philanthropical experience. I think it helped shape them into the beautiful women they are today.
