Haagen Dazs Reserve Ice Cream
Has anyone tried this "gourmet" ice cream from HD?
I have tried Mayan Chocolate, which was chocolate ice cream with a cinnamon swirl; it was very rich and the cinnamon felt like a burst of spice. I believe it was limited edition because I don't see it on the website.
I picked up Fleur de Sel Caramel ice cream tonight - the description is: Fleur de Sel caramels covered in a chocolaty coating blended into caramel ice cream with caramel ribbons and French sea salt accents. Crisp, salty nuances harmonize with rich, creamy caramel for the ultimate combination of sweet and salty.
Wow - it really is a great tasting ice cream! The sweet caramel ice cream and swirl is cool and then the little bites of chocolate covered caramel complement the ice cream. The first couple of bites, I didn't taste the salt, but once I dug into the ice cream, the salted caramel was delicious. I think the salty-sweet combination is fascinating.

Yeah the Mayan Chocolate is yummy. I've never had the other one but it also sounds great. I really liked that show on Food Network a while back with the "Next Haagen Dazs flavor". I wish I would have been on the show with my dark chocolate and key lime idea.

I've been trying to find that flavor, but my grocery stores NEVER have it! I love caramel with fleur de sel!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also love the Acai Berry srobet. Very fruity, summery and refreshing!

Fleur de Sel Caramel is one of my favourites. I've always loved sweet & salty combinations, I guess it's in my genes:-). I remember my father sprinkling his chocolate cake with sea salt 30 years ago. Ever since I was a child, I sprinkle my buttered toast with sea salt before a thin layer of orange marmalade goes on - you wouldn't believe how good it is!
Back to Haagen Dazs reserve - I also love pomegranate & dark chocolate bar. Also, green tea - it's not reserve, it's one of their "limited edition" flavours, but still.
