Great cream cheese mix-ins...

For some reason, for about the past week, I have been craving a turkey sandwich with olive cream cheese, which I used to get about 10 years ago or so at a place that closed not long after. This craving is so strong that I'm pretty sure I'm going to try to whip up some olive cream cheese this weekend. I might make a red onion & garlic or a bacon & chives cream cheese too. What are your favorite mix-ins for cream cheese, or favorite sandwich with cream cheese as an ingredient?

I love love love chopped-up lox mixed in cream cheese, on a bagel with cucumber, tomato, and lots of onions. For that matter, caper cream cheese is pretty kick-ass.

I LOVE jalapeno cream cheese. Also any mixture of cream cheese and herbs, in a real hurry can use a packet of italian dressing mix, and cucumber or radish sandwiches.

Olive cream cheese sounds great!

my favorite mix in is marshmellow fluff - it make the best sweet dip - with fruit for example! I always get asked for my dip - no one know's just how easy it is!

Basil, green onion and just enough olive oil to mix. Spread it over some really good bread that's been toasted......oh mama!

Honestly, nearly anything savory or sweet is delicious on or in cream cheese. I especially like it with dates or figs. I don't buy it often because I could figure out ways to eat it for every meal, dessert and snack. Cream cheese, the universal food. Baby, now I'm cravin'!!!

i make several... me and cream cheese are VERY good friends...

red peppers
veggie mix
lemon juice
cranberry preserves
strawberry preserves
guava jelly

I like hot & spicy things, so this probably isn't for everyone but I mix pineapple and jalapeno with cream cheese. Okay, it's also probably not for everyone because it's a little bit weird, too, but it's good. Really. :)

Chili sauce.

@ holdthemayo - I love jalapeno and pineapple mixed on a pizza, so I could see how it could make some yummy cream cheese...

Everyone has such good ideas!

Since I like cream cheese, lox, red onion, capers and tomato on an everything bagel, I mix them all together and spread! This way nothing falls off the bagel. It is a delightful chunky experience.

@lo82070...I forgot to mention that olive cream cheese sounds excellent. I could eat that as a sandwich filling all by itself along with adding it to a turkey or roast beef sandwich. Yum!

Also forgot to mention that I've tried turkey, cranberry sauce and cream cheese sandwiches to use up the leftover bounty from Thanksgiving. I can highly recommend that combo.

All of the ideas here are making me hungry.

I love the cheapo veggie soup mix. It tastes like the veggie cream cheese you get on bagels. I like making a sandwich with a bagel, veggie cream cheese and fresh veggies.

This isn't a mix-in, but my favorite sandwich is sliced turkey, cream cheese, sunflower seeds, sprouts, mayonnaise and honey French dressing.

Date nut bread sandwiches with walnut or strawberry-blended cream cheese--a child's perfect meal, dessert and lunch all in one!

While I was living in the UK, I used to like to buy prepared sandwiches--whole wheat with cream cheese that had pineapple mixed in, and a sun-dried tomato 'bap' (bun) with pesto-mixed cream cheese.

I like to add crab meat, scallions and a touch of both curry powder and a little cayenne. It is a great spread for bagels or English muffins (and tastes better than a delivery crab rangoon!).

I like chives from my garden for simple chive cream cheese. Right now I have roasted red pepper and chive cream cheese in the fridge.
My favorite, though, is roasted vegetable. Just roast up a bunch of veggies, like peppers, onions, zucchini and carrots and blitz in the food processor with the cream cheese. It's an awesome dip or spread.

I think a little Sriracha would be good.

Or of course, honey.

Green olives are the best!
Sometimes I also mix in:
-pickled jalepenos
-pickled yellow peppers (hot)
-chunks of bleu cheese
-crab
-chopped water chestnuts

Goat Cheese, some fresh chopped herbs from the garden, and freshly ground pepper.

Green olives, or some green olive tapenade.

Herbs de Provence, freshly-grated Pecorino Romano, chopped kalamatas, and freshly ground pepper.

Grated Smoked Mozzerella, some Pimenton, finely chopped onion and peppers, and freshly ground pepper. (This is especially good slathered on bruscetta, and put under the broiler until browned and bubbly.)

Oh... and a cream cheese and nutella sandwich on brioche, grilled in a pan or panini press is HEAVEN.

all of these sound so good im hungry now :) there is this amazing bagel store down the street from my house and they have tons of fancy cream cheeses, most of them pretty good - garlic rosemary, bacon cheddar, cinnamon apple (one of my faves), walnut raisin, blueberry cheesecake - i've never seen so many options at a bagel store before.

I love cream cheese mixed with chocolate chips, a little vanilla extract and some powdered sugar. Form into a ball and let it set up a little bit in the fridge, and you've got a dessert cheese ball that is delicious with graham cracker sticks.

Craisins & cream cheese on Ritz sounds really good right now

I love cream cheese with so many things! Some of my favourite ones are:

*lox and dill, with a touch of wholegrain mustard
*basil, sun-dried tomatoes & garlic
*green olives, pimentos and parsley
*artichoke, garlic and chives
*orange & cranberry sauce

A spoon.

Really good cream cheese is wonderful just plain.

A cracker is nice, too. Probably end up with fewer calories than if you just keep eating it with that spoon.

Any herb you like is a good addition. Chives or any onion-y things are good.

Cream cheese on rye bread with onion. Mmmmm....

Cream cheese on sourdough with tomato.

Cream cheese wrapped inside fire-roasted red peppers.

Cream cheese. Plain. Snuck from the fridge when no one is looking. Mmmmmm....

Cracker Spread:
Cream cheese mixed with pineapples, onions, green peppers, salt, chopped pecans. Roll mixture pecan halves or slivers.
