Foodie Names: What Would Your Name Be?
I just now discovered a recipe that I'd saved that was attributed to a guy whose last name is Fennel. And SE's own Lucy Baker is, at times, a baker. I assume that these are names that the aforementioned people were born with, but for those of us who weren't so lucky, let's say you could waltz into court today and change your legal name to something that reflects your love of food or one particular food, or to a name that reflects your zeal for cooking...what would your new name be? Something subtle or something flamboyant? Rosemary Cook? Mac N. Cheese? Johnny Mayo? Barb E. Cue?

If I were a guy, I'd get a lot of joy out of changing my name to Hash Brown. I don't particularly like hash browns (I don't hate them either...they're good on occasion) but there's something about the name that brings to mind a crusty old detective, the kind that's completely jaded by all the carnage he's seen and whose arteries are clogged by all the doughnuts, fried food and cream-laden stale coffee he's consumed on the way home to his dreary bachelor pad after a long day and night following leads. Okay, I think I have an overactive imagination. And I'm now rethinking my joy at being a guy named Hash Brown.

@1stmakearoux - Paradise by the dashboard light? Ain't no doubt about it! I know every word of the song and my BIL knows the baseball sequence by heart. We used to go to an Irish boom-bah (don't ask) pub and that was always played at the end of the evening, huge circle, males vs. females, all singing (or trying) and laughing. Lots of finger pointing on, "Stop right now!". What a blast!
