Dinner in the Lower East Side, NYC?
i've been trapped at Cake Shop working all afternoon, and am starting to get awful hungry. Is there a nice place to have a quiet dinner around here? I'd like to not have to walk too far, but still be able to eat something nice.

Supper (2nd btwn A and B) is absolutely delicious and very well-priced. The Spaghetti al Limone is wonderful as are the Preist Stranglers and basically everything else. I highly recommend it! Max is also very good, if you want italian. Also, if you're in the mood for Latin American cuisine, Yerba Buena (A btwn 1st and 2nd, hidden under scaffolding) has been open about 6 weeks. The food is very good as are the cocktails!

Not to be a jerk, but it's "dinner on the lower east side", not "in."

@simon, but isn't that a regional thing? Like the difference between waiting in line or waiting on line (where I grew up I always heard waiting in line but I moved to NYC where I hear waiting on line all the time)?

@pbisNOTmyname I am going to have to agree. I have never heard "on" in that context", unless you're referring to "eating on a blanket", or "we had dinner on the Hudson last night". Normally one eats "in DC", "in Paris, "in Tokyo" or "in the Lower East Side". Just my opinion though, I guess I could be wrong.

@avideater: The only time that I have heard "on the" instead of "in the" was in NYC and I was SO confused!
