Dining pre-Dark Knight in Midtown, NYC

Two of my friends and I are going to see The Dark Knight at the AMC Times Square (12:01 am showing!). We get off work at 8 (we work in the fashion district) and we forgot to choose a restaurant to eat dinner at before the show! Any suggestions? One is a vegetarian. Thanks!

Budget and atmosphere criteria would help a lot. My default option for the area, when I lived in New York, was just Ollie's. Not terribly exciting, but reliable and at least I didn't feel ripped off. No doubt there are more interesting options, though.

Budget... not too expensive (trying not to spend more than $20 per person... we work in theatre)... Atmosphere doesn't matter...

Well in that case I stand by Ollie's (reliable Chinese-American). you can easily get out for less than $15 a head, possibly under $10 if you're really careful.

monday night i went to this restaurant, nizza, in the area. food was pretty darn good and it's well within your budget

Kodama Sushi, 45th between 8th and 9th on the north side of the street. Awesome sushi, maki, and reasonable beers and saki if you want to get a little sauced beforehand. I have some fish allergies and have never had one problem getting stuffed on the vegetarian maki selection. Good, quick service too.

I second Nizza, and they'll have plenty of vegetarian options. A little closer to your work (so you don't have to backtrack to the movie) is also Market Cafe on 9th Ave. and 37th. That might fit your budget perfectly... Although if you go to Nizza there are plenty of bars on 9th Ave. to hang out at until the movie.
