Chain Restaurant Burgers

I dont know if this has been discussed in the past but here goes. Most often when my family and I got to a chain restaurant I get a burger, which leads me to ask which chain has the best burger? INMHO I think that Ruby Tuesday's prime buger is best.

I also like Bugaboo Creek's old timer. I also have ones I would never get like any thing at Applebee's they always have overcooked my burger.

I do Ruby Tuesday's Turkey burger with Swiss and portobellos. I generally do either a salad or veggies on the side although the fries are scrumptious. I don't eat deep fried food.

Chili's burgers are usually very good. Like them better than Red Robin.

Max & Erma's always seems to be tasty to me.

Chili's wont let you have it undercooked.. it makes me wonder. Braums, again, with the burgers. soon they'll have only Oklahoma raised beef.

about the only chain Burger I've ever had that was truly good was at Hard Rock Cafe, in Ct. they actually cooked it med rare. usually if i go somewhere and they wont cook it med rare i just order a salad.

Whataburger and Braums...the best!

This is a sad thing to admit, but I REALLY like the burgers at Cheesecake Factory. Yum!

I thought Red Robin was OK. Still have to get to Ruby Tuesday's to try the burger there again. It's been years, and one just opened near-ish to me. I've liked Whataburger when I've had them and also Steak-n-Shake.

Haven't been to Ruby Tuesday's yet.....had a burger at Chili's last week......a 1/4 pounder at Mickey D's would have been better......i'd so much rather cook a burger at home.......I'm usually totally disappointed whenever I get a burger out....I start off with a fresh ground chuck roast....i kinda know the butcher...lol.....make some 1/3 lb patties....salt n pepper only....and either grill them on the BBQ or cook them on my cast iron griddle.....nice crust on the outside and medium rare.....doesn't get any better than that !!!

Yikes! Those of you who like Ruby Tuesday's burgers--check out the nutritional info--even the Turkey Burger has 810 calories, and the standard burger has over 1000 (without sides, cheese, and so forth on them)

Long ago, when I ate meat, I think my favorite burger was TGIF's exotic offerings. A very strict kosher friend of mine used to only 'transgress' the dietary rules to eat Perkins' burgers because he thought they were so good.

There are no Backyard Burgers chains in NH but if you're ever traveling and have the chance to try one, they're worth it. The closest ones to you would be Pennsylvania and Virginia, unless they've opened more locations recently. They're technically fast food (drive thru, etc.) and the price range is similar to Steak-n-Shake, but their burgers bear no resemblance to any other fast food burgers.

Braum's burgers are good, too. I think they're primarily throughout the central and southeast U.S. (I almost wrote SE U.S. but SE means something else around here.) :)

If you live near a Houston's, that would be my first choice! Their Hickory Burger is really good......

Houston's! Never had one that wasn't cooked exactly medium rare.

Five Guys!!!!! (although I guess they technically qualify as fast food)

I second Five Guys...@Alice: At least they don't have a drive thru. :)

I also like Red Robbin. Mmmm

Jake's isn't bad either.

Five guys, Chili's and my new favorite, Redstone Grill.

The Blue Ribbon Burger @ Red Robin swap the onion bun for sesame and hold the lettuce. Too good.

Technically, this would probably qualify as fast food--but my choice would be In-n-Out

I love Red Robin's with provolone (swiss is standard) and mushroom, they garlic butter up the buns and they are so tasty! Also never had a bad fry there, always hot and crispy, love their seasoning!

Other than that I'm not much of a burger eater in restaurants, I admit to being a sucker for a slider though!

Fuddruckers, Chilis, Red Robin, Ruby Tuesday, Cheddar's, and then Applebees in that order.

God help me... I really, really like the Angus burger at Mickey D's. There. I said it.

Flamers' - the best chain burger I've tasted ever.
Fuddruckers' (which they don't have in Philly)
5 Guys
In and Out Burger
Checkers
Burger King

Best sit-down chain burger is at Houston's (if you live near one)...

Best fast-food chain burger is at In-N-Out (again, if you live near one)...

Ruby Tuesday's alpine swiss burger is really tasty, and I hate to admit it, but also fast-food chain, Dairy Queen's mushroom swiss grillburger, although it is very messy.

Houston's is by far the best chain restaurant burger around. The beef is excellent quality, and its always cooked perfectly

Braum's isn't so much the Central US (I assume you mean like the Midwest?) as it is towards the south. When we drive from St. Louis to Dallas, one of our markers is how far north Braum's has moved. I believe theres now one in Springfield, MO, but until last year we didn't find them until the second half of Oklahoma.

And I vote for Steak 'n' Shake. Five Guys is good when it's good but a little inconsistent.

Don't see any mention of Counter Burger. We have one opening up in West Hartford and I understand it's the first on the East Coast. There was quite a buzz about this a few months ago...anyone eaten there?

Hi bessfour, I logged on to the Counter Burger website, and this looks like a winner. I live on the East Coast also, and hope one will be coming to the Central Fla area. If no one replies to your post, please give an update, thanks!

@lemons, I'm slow seeing this thread again but by Central US, I mean the states that generally sit in the center of the country if you look at a map and are in the central time zone, including Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas. Depending on who you ask, Arkansas, which has Braum's locations, is sometimes lumped in with the Southeast.

Braum's has been in the first half of Oklahoma for 30+ years (Tulsa area), if you're driving north to south or east to west.

Whataburger. Period.
